Philip de-Beger - Arctic trip 2009

In April 2009 A team of 5 of us left Resolute bay heading for Grise Fjord. We skied pulling pulk's (sledges) Across Cornwallis Island, The North-West passage, Devon Island and along Jones sound and finally finishing with a lovely welcome at Grise Fjord. 4 of us completed the whole trip making us the first British team to Ski between the most northerly communities in the canadian arctic. Deep water soloing

Like the British trad grade. The deep water soling grade consists of two parts. The. Adjective Grade the 'S' grade and the Technical Grade. For the Technical grade french sport grades. Are used. Climbing Grades

As British grades are a lot harder. See the second table bellow to compare. Easy moves (5a) but poorly protected. Average moves with some protection. Hard moves for grade but well protected. Using the two different grades you can get an idea of what to expect for example a route with an easy technical grade for it's adjective grade e.g a VS 4a will be poorly protected. Whilst for a VS 4c to still be a VS it should be well protected. But nobody seams to have taken this on board so the grades for an onsigh...
