A Rescued Mirror - My Modern Country
http://www.mymoderncountry.com/2012/02/rescued-mirror.html
Porch With A View. Porch With A View. February 4, 2012. Last weekend I went digging through our shack. What? You didn’t know we have a shack? It’s actually a pretty cool out-building on the ranch. We were told it was the school house for the family who originally homesteaded here. This is The Shack. Anyway, we use it for storage, and a place to keep one of our extra freezers. And it has some orphaned items stored in there, which I like to dig through once in a while. And it had bird poop all over it.

December 18th, 2012-. My goodness, where to start? It has been five weeks since my last confession I mean, post. First of all, here is our Christmas-card image for those VERY few of you who are not on our list. What a beautiful girl, inside and out. She’s just home from a school history trip to Berlin, and we are happily reunited for the holidays. We have tickets to a Cinderella panto. With friends, tickets to A Christmas Carol. We won’t be bored. Sometimes that sounds terribly appealing. It is such an u...

From the Desk of Bee Drunken: Many happy returns
http://beedrunken.blogspot.com/2011/06/many-happy-returns.html
From the Desk of Bee Drunken. Friday, 17 June 2011. Today is my oldest daughter’s “golden” birthday:. She is seventeen on the 17th of June. We moved to England when I was 7 months pregnant with Rebecca, and I remember, so vividly, that last long week of waiting . . . and how the days seemed to be suspended, caught in amber, dragged out into long golden twilight. In a week, my daughter will be going to Ghana – and who knows how that challenge will change her? Happy Birthday, Rebecca! And many happy returns.

The closet exhibitionist →. February 17, 2011. Today is one of those days when I wonder why I am doing this, or rather who I am doing this for. Couldn’t wait for the men to leave the house this morning so I could crank up the family computer and see who had been to look at my blog yesterday. Why am I so surprised and disappointed that most people have got better things to do with their spare time? Ah, there now I’ve gone and said it! And I fell much better. About The English Parent. Great looking blog &#...

From the Desk of Bee Drunken: A bit of earth
http://beedrunken.blogspot.com/2012/01/bit-of-earth.html
From the Desk of Bee Drunken. Monday, 2 January 2012. A bit of earth. The seasons have gone by faster than usual this year. My daughter said to me as we were walking down a narrow, mud-slippery lane. Not quite 14 is my daughter; have enough years gone by for her to utter this commonplace? But then I reflected:. Perhaps she doesn’t speak of time at all, in the sense of a seasonal round that seems to speed up with every passing year, but rather of the word that she actually uses. Seasons, not time. The gre...
