Bienvenido Pura Vida: October 2006
http://farfromtreetown.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 03, 2006. Still at Riley's in Alajuela. This weekend I am heading to Dominical and picking fruit at a nearby farm and selling the harvest in the local community. In exchange for work, I get food and a place to sleep. Assuming climbing trees and eating fresh tropical fruit is as sweet as it sounds, I'll stay there until mid November. More info about this and hopefully photos once it happens. Also added to the sidebar- ). Posted by AdamSoup @ 10:03 AM. Links to this post. Back in Tree Town.

Trap armadillo with a net between 12 AM and 2AM. Get 3 gal of water boiling in big pot. Take creature's life away with a single swing of the machete to his head. (Females not eaten). While water boils, place uncooked food neck down to drain as much fluid as possible. Dip raw food in pot of boiling water. Let it rest for 15 min. Links to this post.

Bienvenido Pura Vida: November 2005
http://farfromtreetown.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 28, 2005. These last few weeks can't go by fast enough. This place has been good to me but more and more I can see the shiny film of the bubble surrounding every building and coating the minds of its occupants. I am almost to the edge of the bubble, holding a pin, ready to burst into another world (or integrate this one with a bigger one). Posted by AdamSoup @ 4:15 PM. Links to this post. Sunday, June 18, 2006. Made it to Mexico safely! Lots of news since my last update but internet is no longer free. so it may be a while until I can catch up on the details. Other than more or less biweekly trips to Tapachula, I'm living at a small research station at a coffee farm called Finca Irlanda. My days consist of: wake up at 6, capture beetles till 11, eat and relax the rest of the day. Here and there, we do other research and later in the summer I may start my own project. http://farfromtreetown.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 22, 2006. Alajuela, Costa Rica. I am staying at a friend's house in a suburb of San Jose, the country's capital. On the 29th, I will start a volunteer gig protecting Caribbean shoreline used by giant sea turtles. At the moment, most of my time is spent studying GRE vocabulary and cooking. I've become pretty good at making pizza from scratch and even thai green curry. Chocolate chip cookies and fried yuca, too. Posted by AdamSoup @ 11:20 AM. Links to this post. Sunday, February 26, 2006. School has definately been in gear. quizes, papers, etc. Many assignments are done as a group, which makes it a bit easier. In work experience class, we were assigned the task of raking leaves off a trail in the rainforest. Apparently this is for the benefit of gringo tourists? I also learned that the school's forest reserve was established and maintained with money donated by American Express. and we sell our banana's to Whole Foods! The party was like something out of a movie...
