...SHAN...: March 2010

Thursday, March 25, 2010. To Ruminate: To Reflect Deeply. So over the past few months (even a year, maybe) I have been collecting a number of my favourite ruminations, from ruminations.com. For tipping me off on this website, it has provided an incredible amount of laughter; it’s now become a custom for Nat and I to ask each other, “Got any new rumes for me lately? There is a great need for sarcasm font. Answering the same letter three times or more in a row on a Scantron test is absolutely petrifying.

For Such a Time as This: March 2014
http://stacydryfhout.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
For Such a Time as This. Saturday, March 22, 2014. Oh, The Shame. I have been learning a lot lately about what it means to let things go. I don’t have a problem with change, where I struggle is when I have an idea (or an ideal) in my head that doesn’t pan out the way I anticipated…”But, but, that’s not how it was supposed to be! That is just one example, but the point is, I am learning…. To go on safari. There are probably more things I could share but I filled nearly two pages and it is time to end.

Minus 5, Plus a Day: See you in August
http://minus5plusaday.blogspot.com/2012/07/see-you-in-august.html
Minus 5, Plus a Day. From our continent to yours. Tuesday, July 24, 2012. See you in August. If you haven't heard, we're in the process of moving home! We just couldn't miss out on yet another Penticton summer. Our last day of work will be August 14th, and I'm looking at plane tickets for August 22nd. Tomorrow is my day off so I'll be cleaning the car and posting pictures of it. Ideally we wouldn't sell it for at least 2 weeks since I'm still using it but we can't wait too last minute on it either.

in search of words: March 2011
http://girlinsearchofwords.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
In search of words. Sunday, March 13, 2011. I had the privilege of taking an amazing course at school a couple weeks of ago, entitled. Theological Issues in Counselling. Judging by the name of the course, you might not be feeling too jazzed - but the actual content of the class revolved around forgiveness. Forgiveness as a concept, and how it relates to our faith and our practice as therapists - and ultimately, as human beings. Who actually murdered their mother? It's not easy living a life that embodies...

in search of words: optimism or hope?
http://girlinsearchofwords.blogspot.com/2010/11/optimism-or-hope.html
In search of words. Thursday, November 4, 2010. Now that I'm in this position of learning how to professionally counsel hurting people. That if I expect to be a strong force in this world, an advocate for the broken, a ray of light in a dark room, I should have my shit together. (Translation: be perfect.) Right? That He's OK with our honesty. In fact, I think He loves. See it one day. That's hope. November 29, 2010 at 12:41 PM. Thanks for writing that. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Eden, pt 2.

Beautiful, and Dirty Dirty Poor. Loving the Life I Got. Tuesday, March 30, 2010. But What About Today? The score never interested me, only the game- Mae West. I am sure that when Mae said these words, she was referring to her relationships with men, but when I saw it printed on the outside of a wine bottle- I related it to the bigger picture. While I always believed that positive thought about my future was a good thing, I have been completely overlooking the other 3/4's of the picture: my life right now...

Beautiful, and Dirty Dirty Poor: June 2010
http://beautifulanddirtydirtypoor.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Beautiful, and Dirty Dirty Poor. Loving the Life I Got. Saturday, June 26, 2010. That's right. I'm off to Spain this eve. Nine days ago I got a call asking if I would be interested in a last minute trip to Italy. Yup. Then the fact that neither of us had an international licence meant we couldn't rent a car and would have to fork over $600 CAD to pay someone to drive us the 4 hrs to the Amalfi. Look at Rob contorting with enjoyment. She lays it out there and it's always good. She could have her o...I jus...

Beautiful, and Dirty Dirty Poor: July 2010
http://beautifulanddirtydirtypoor.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Beautiful, and Dirty Dirty Poor. Loving the Life I Got. Tuesday, July 27, 2010. The Little Painting That Could. Being that I am a total perfectionaholic. Blank canvases frighten me. But I am working on not being such a control freak. Calm down. No one cares if your shirt is dirty or you dishes aren't done. I bought a couple canvases at the dollar store in January. And they gawked at me until I finally dragged out my oil paints (I have one Emily Carr class under my belt to hold over every one's. Black Abs...

Beautiful, and Dirty Dirty Poor: August 2009
http://beautifulanddirtydirtypoor.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Beautiful, and Dirty Dirty Poor. Loving the Life I Got. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. I had no bills to pay, I might have these. Thrift magic in 15 mins or less. What better way to become truly thankful for all those hot, restless nights during our heatwave than to go shopping for fall and winter jackets? It reminds me of all those cold, rainy days that are just around the corner. so suck it up and embrace the heat. That's when I swoop in and find this jacket:. It's real wool too! I've been seeing these jack...
