Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Schoolhouse tunic - with pockets! Recently I got it in my head that the Schoolhouse Tunic. I mean, really, everything should have pockets, don't you think? While teaching a Washi Dress. Class at Stitched with Love. I thought, hmmm, I wonder if those Washi pockets would work on a Schoolhouse Tunic? Bought me some Parson Gray fabric and brought it home to try it out. Nobody will know it's there but me, but it just feels right. Finished in a day and I love it! July 22, 2015 at 6:54 AM.

Saturday, January 31, 2015. Crafty Tuesday and some hats. Crafty Tuesday happened a week early this month. There were four of us celebrating January or February birthdays which made it extra fun! There was pizza, salad and cupcakes. and quite a few yarn crafts at the table this month. I've been making hats to donate to kids in our community who need them. This one came out pretty cute. But not all of the patterns I've tried have been successes. I think I might just keep this headband one for myself.

Wednesday, October 29, 2014. I've got to tell you, one thing I miss living in Dallas is fall. Typically, sometime before Thanksgiving, the leaves on the trees turn brown and drift to the ground. Just like that, BAM, fall has come and gone. One day it's 80 and the next day it's 45. What happened to fall? I was so happy to experience true fall while I was in Asheville last week. This is the quilt garden at the Asheville arboretum. Do you see the flying geese? Of course, that nasty season that follows fall?

Tuesday, April 21, 2015. My first major creation. Although I have been making things my whole life, 25 years ago today my first major creation made her appearance. She's still my tiny one (not as tiny as the photo above, but still tiny! But she has become a woman of strong faith, big adventures, love of travel, curiosity about the world around her and wonderful kindness to her family and friends. I encourage you to read about her adventures here. I wish you a very happy birthday Leigh Anne! Each board me...

Monday, June 29, 2015. I always love seeing what my bee buddies come up with for their monthly blocks. This is the block I made for Bettepat in May. And this block is all done for Stephanie, to be delivered at our guild meeting next week. Stephanie provided the background fabric, the door fabric and the pattern and instructed us to "paint our house" however we pleased. I had fun picking out fabrics, especially for the window! Now that it's finished, it kind of looks like a sleepy eye to me! Mom pieced an...

Thursday, July 23, 2015. English paper pieced plus quilt. A while ago I hinted at a little project I was working on, using Mollie (Wild Olive)'s tutorial. For English paper piecing plus blocks. This is genius! Those of us who love to have a hand work project going at all times salute you Mollie! What started off as a collection of Aqua/gray/low volume pluses evolved into this sweet mini that will forever hang on my studio wall. Here are my 21 original plus blocks all sewn together. Pouch with a View.

Saturday, May 30, 2015. On the road again. About a week ago I headed off to Phoenix to spend some time with Mom and Dad. Dad had some surgery this past week and I am happy to be here to help them out (He's home and healing). Luckily I have my Hexagon project to keep me busy! I finished up hexies 18, 19 and 20 early in the week. And I am beginning to join some into rows. Such a wonderful portable project. What do you work on when you're traveling? Monday, May 18, 2015.
