AGICOA EUROPE BRUSSELS: How it works. The rights managed by AGICOA EUROPE BRUSSELS are part of the exclusive exploitation rights and communication to the public of audiovisual works.These rights are traditionally called retransmission rights subject to mandatory collective management. In 2002, after several years of conflict with the belgian users, the company has negotiated new rates. The company may not discriminate an operator against another. The licenses granted by the company are non-exclusive.

Declaring the rights of the works, work by work, territory by territory is essential. Only declared right on works are paid. The company has a legal obligation to manage the rights of rightsholders of the same categorie even when a rightsholder has not declared his rights to the company and to invite the rightsholder to make a declaration in order to obtain the remuneration for his work.

AEB's mission is to collect, manage and distribute royalties in Belgium and abroad due for any simultaneous or delayed communication of an audiovisual work made in response to a separate distributor broadcaster, regardless of the method used by the distributor and the fact that the method involves, or not, the use of a technical platform. AEB is part of the International Association AGICOA based Genvève.
