Lessons Learned: Achieving a failure
http://www.startuplessonslearned.com/2009/01/achieving-failure.html
Friday, January 30, 2009. We spend a lot of time planning. We even make contingency plans for what to do if the main plan goes wrong. But what if the plan goes right, and we still fail? This is the my most dreaded kind of failure, because it tricks you into thinking that you're in control and that you're succeeding. In other words, it inhibits learning. My worst failures have all been of this kind, and learning to avoid them has been a constant struggle. See if this plan sounds like a good one to you:.

Scrum Fails? | Ken Schwaber's Blog: Telling It Like It Is
https://kenschwaber.wordpress.com/2011/04/07/scrum-fails
Ken Schwaber's Blog: Telling It Like It Is. April 7, 2011. Last night an old friend from the Scrum Alliance told me that I’m being quoted as saying that only 30% of all teams and organizations that use Scrum will be successful. I pondered this. I didn’t remember having said this. Perhaps this was an evolution of my having said that only 30% of all teams or organizations that use Scrum will become excellent development organizations. That fits with my memory. We are told what to do and how to do it. Scrum...

Has used this process to deploy new code as often as an average of fifty times a day. I want to focus today on the why. (If you're looking for resources on getting started, see " Continuous deployment in 5 easy steps. Many tim...

http://blog.jayfields.com/2009/01/cost-of-net-negative-producing.html
Experiences in software development. Tuesday, January 06, 2009. The Cost of Net Negative Producing Programmers. It's common to compare ourselves to doctors, lawyers, and other highly-paid professionals. Unfortunately, almost every comparison breaks down dramatically, very quickly. I wish my experience were isolated, but while I was consulting for 3.5 years I saw countless examples of exactly the same story. The argument that demand is too high completely ignores the opportunity cost of working with NNPP.
