Monday, August 4, 2014. Happiness in the Everyday. I find happiness, yes, even peace and contentment, in the every day things in life. Cleaning my home brings me a sense of rightness. Cooking comforts me. That's why I'm feeling so good today because I've started the day off with some of those little comforts. On Monday, after a full weekend, I like to start by throwing in a load of laundry and then vacuuming the floors. I go back inside and mix up my granola cereal. Then I mix up a batch of taco seasoning.

I have the square layer on top, then the batting, then the backing. I pinned it together with about 100 pins and then basted it in four directions. I bought a spool of embroidery floss to use as ties all over the quilt to keep the batting from shifting. My sister said to put one at each corner and in the center of each square. All that's left to do is finish the edge!
