Wednesday, September 5, 2012. I feel like most people in the world are either beach people or lake people. You may enjoy going to both, but if you had to choose one for the rest of your life, what would it be? My family, we are lake people. Don't get me wrong, we love going to the beach. But if we had to choose just one, we'd pick the lake. So this Labor Day weekend, as usual, we packed up and headed to the lake. (Andy is a beach person, but we still let him tag along =). Friday, April 25, 2014. Here we are again! Lucas is another month older. At 9 months, Lucas is. Eating solids 2x/day. I started giving him chunks of banana to feed himself and he loves it. Talking" a lot more. His favorite sound is "dada". He does "duh", "bah" and "buh", and some "gah" sounds mostly. He did "mama" for a bit but does it rarely right now (not without my trying! He is sleeping well at night for the most part although he likes to get up at 5:30 most days (ack! That's 9 months in a nutshell!

Wednesday, February 26, 2014. What a fun stage this is! Lucas is really able to entertain himself with playing now, and it's so fun to watch him as he explores new skills and toys. He is sitting up without any support now and seems to prefer that over any other position now that he has mastered it. He loves sitting with a few toys around him that he can play with. There were not really any great big excitements this month as far as milestones, just the simple pleasure of watching this happy boy grow and discover the world around him. Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Here we are again! Lucas is another month older. It seems like he changed so much this month! He has become so interested in the things around him. He is playing with toys for real now, and not just holding them because I try to make him. He is also doing better at being able to entertain himself. Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Lucas turned 10 months about 2 weeks ago, but we went out of town the next day and are just getting back in the swing of things. Thursday, January 30, 2014. Each new month that Lucas grows is exciting, but I feel like 6 months is a particular milestone. Babies are ready for more interesting toys, sitting up, really starting to interact with the world around them, and eating real food. Exciting stuff for a new little life. Thursday, August 14, 2014. It's Here: 1 Year. The big 1st birthday has come and gone. There was a little piece of my heart that ached seeing Lucas pass this milestone. There are so many ways he's already passing from the baby stage into toddler-dom. Crawls all over the place. He rarely sits and plays with anything for long now.
