Afgelopen week bereikte ons het schokkende bericht dat onze teamgenoot. Zondag 10 mei volslagen plotseling is overleden. Het is een schok dat onze linksback niet meer is. Wilfred, die 71 jaar is geworden, was vastberaden dat hij er nog een hockeyjaar bij aan wilde knopen. Hij liet ons vorige week per e-mail nog weten : “Ik stop niet met hockeyen”. Met 57 jaar aaneengesloten lidmaatschap van de Arnhemsche Hockeyclub, was hij geruime tijd het langst spelende lid. Daarvoor werd hij in 2008 nog gehuldigd.
