Beer, Baseball, Notre Dame Football (and Life as a Parent) Notes from a sleep-deprived 30-something Dad. Tuesday, November 11, 2008. On days like today, I try to take a little time to think about some of the truly amazing things people have done for our country, for the sake of freedom and democracy here and around the world. In my own family, I think about three people, in particular. Just a year earlier, Kieran had graduated from Harvard University, class of 1943. For these and other members of my fami...

Beer, Baseball, Notre Dame Football (and Life as a Parent) Notes from a sleep-deprived 30-something Dad. Saturday, September 13, 2008. We lost our dear friend, Sylvie, today. Over the last several weeks, she seemed to get very frail and weak very quickly. The vet couldn't find anything diagnostically wrong for a cat her age- she was around 15, we think. But she just wasn't herself. And it was obvious. I can't write a proper obituary just now. After a day like today, I just don't have the words in me.

Beer, Baseball, Notre Dame Football (and Life as a Parent) Notes from a sleep-deprived 30-something Dad. Sunday, November 16, 2008. New Nashville Tech Podcast. Beer, Baseball, Notre Dame Football (and Life as a Parent) Notes from a sleep-deprived 30-something Dad. Friday, March 28, 2008. Dunkin Google Street View. And I have to say, this is a weird experience. I can imagine what it would be like driving through town- that feeling of familiarity mixed with the alien sense of things not quite the same. But it's still pretty freakin' cool! So I pressed the Google accelerator and pressed onward toward the breach. and a funny thing happened. Passed a row of cars....

Beer, Baseball, Notre Dame Football (and Life as a Parent) Notes from a sleep-deprived 30-something Dad. Tuesday, November 11, 2008. Facial Hair against Prostate Cancer. So I'm spending the Month of November growing a moustache. Technically it's a Van Dyke right now. and technically that's against the rules. but I'll get to that in a second. You may be asking- What the hell does all this have to do with Facial Hair? Coincidentally or not, around the time that all this was going on, I spotted this tweet.
