Sea of air | Aileen Hamilton

And the idea of being still or solid while everything's moving and changing around you. This series is motivated by a feeling of complete awareness.when I’m present in the moment and tuned in to the life that surrounds me. It’s a heightened sensitivity to the energy and the air that moves around me and through me and my connection with it. I imagine dreams, spirits and memories being swept up, dragged through the weeds and tossed around like dust. Anne Bronte, My soul is Awakened.

About | Aileen Hamilton
http://www.aileenhamilton.eu/about
My art has a firm basis in nature, with an emphasis on ecological cycles and organic processes. I’m fascinated with the notion of chaos and order and in an attempt to create delicate balances between the two; I explore worlds that are both atmospheric and imaginative. I am Irish and studied Fine Art Painting in the National College of Art and Design. I am currently based in between Barcelona and Ireland.

The sound of no sound | Aileen Hamilton

The sound of no sound. During my time at Headspace. Artist Residency in Nara, Japan, I made a series of drawings where I visualised the sounds I was listening to and tried to express how they made me feel. My sleep pattern's all over the place and I m waking at up 4.30-5ish: as soon as it gets bright and the birds start singing really loudly.really! It s a noise that affects your whole body. Entering the ears and filling the head, belly and soul. The hum, the rythms.

ultra-living element | Aileen Hamilton

Fire is the ultra-living element. It is intimate and it is universal. It lives in our heart. It lives in the sky. It rises from the depths of the substance and offers itself with the wamth of love. Or it can go back down into the substance and hide there, latent and pent-up, like hate and vengence. Gaston Bachelard, The psychoanalysis of fire. Anatomy of an explosion.
