Pantone color(s) of the year. For the first time ever, pantone chose not 1 but 2 colors of the year for 2016 - rose quartz and serenity. the colors were chosen to convey “ rosy warmth and tranquility. If you’re seeing baby shower colors, pantone’s exec’s were quick to correct by saying rose quartz isn’t “wimpy”. i’m all about a badass pink shade. it immediately makes me think of glossier (which i HIGHLY recommend, fyi). I’ve never been a huge fan of 70s inspired fashion. to me it all feels very “festival” and a gimmicky. but the 70s inspired looks at fall fashion weeks made me change my mind. going back to the source, the 70s were a fantastic combination of sexy, feminine and tomboy looks. women were finally embracing jeans and low cut necklines, and there’s something very empowering about it all.
