Article #6 Stroker 36hp Bonneville bus. I got this bus a while back and decided to take it to Bonneville and run the 36hp class. From then to now. Lots of hacks, great hoopty dash. New bulkhead done as a semi walk through with a swivel seat. Fresh paint in the engine bay, new transmission. 1560cc 36hp stroker runs strong! Why the 36hp engine? So what exactly is the purpose of turning a small displacement 36hp engine into a hotrod that at best could turn out maybe 70hp (Im being optimistic). Truth be told, a stock 1600 dual port engine could do better and be much cheaper to build. but that is just not the point of this exercise, is it?
