EP recognizes benefits of biofuels. The EP’s Environment Committee has strengthened the position of biofuels as part of the transport sector’s energy transition. Yesterday’s decision allows for bioethanol and biodiesel to contribute up to seven percentage points to the goal of ten percent alternative fuels in transport by 2020.
