Onsdag 17. mars 2010. JFK International Airport closed down Runway 13-31 for a $376 million makeover. Runway 13-31, also known as the Bay Runway, will be widened from 150 feet to 200 feet and will have taxiways added. At 14,572 feet, this is the longest runways in the world and the most used runway at JFK. According to the AP, reconstruction of the runway will last approx four months, things are going to be really congested for awhile at JFK. It goes without saying, plan your trip wisely.
