Sophie in Vienna: Things to be Happy About
http://sophieinvienna.blogspot.com/2009/11/things-to-be-happy-about.html
Friday, November 6, 2009. Things to be Happy About. 1 I'm in a better German class now! The last one brought me to tears almost every day, it was so hard. This is just one step lower but already so much better. Bonus: It's only Mo.Wed. evenings, so now Fridays are free! 2 My job, which I've had for a couple weeks but haven't written about: It's great! They're totally easy-going, pay well, and it's only Tues. Thurs.- so once, again long weekends are possible. Long weekends = Traveling! She loves in Vienna.

Sophie in Vienna: The train still hasn't left the station...
http://sophieinvienna.blogspot.com/2009/10/train-still-hasnt-left-station.html
Friday, October 2, 2009. The train still hasn't left the station. Gosh darnit. This ball still isn't rolling. I really thought things would come together faster than they have. On a positive note, my German skills are much better than I thought. I tested them yesterday at the German school and the woman told me how impressed she was with my abilities, considering I've never taken a real class. She kept asking me how I learned. If I knew the word for 'osmosis' in German I would have told her th...Paris, Sc...

Sophie in Vienna: Why I live in Vienna
http://sophieinvienna.blogspot.com/2009/10/why-i-live-in-vienna.html
Friday, October 2, 2009. Why I live in Vienna. At the Heurigen, unfortunately without the view. Pawel and I hosted a Canadian guy named Graham last weekend. Couchsurfing is give and take- on one hand, there's definitely a privacy-level-plummet to share our one-room shack. On the other, it gets us out and about, doing and showing things that we wouldn't otherwise. Another fun event: Toga party at Georgio's. I almost didn't go.the theme reminded me too much of yucky, boozy college parties. I'm ...

Sophie in Vienna: Meeting Mamo
http://sophieinvienna.blogspot.com/2009/11/meeting-mamo.html
Sunday, November 1, 2009. Atos and I, on the way to the beach. I have finally seen the place that shaped my boyfriend into the ridiculous and wonderful and ridiculously wonderful person he is. I was excited to meet the woman who raised him, although I knew it would be difficult language-wise (I was right.). The 10 hour drive isn't particularly worth mentioning.anyone could figure out that the best adjective for that one is LONG. We arrived in Stepnica- pop. 2000- at around 4 am. A little tired? Sophie in Vienna: Wining in Czech Republic, Whining in Austria
http://sophieinvienna.blogspot.com/2009/10/wining-in-czech-republic-whining-in.html
Monday, October 12, 2009. Wining in Czech Republic, Whining in Austria. Eventful weekend followed by promising week.just what I needed :). Friday- Couchsurfing Stammtisch. Great way to reunite with friends I haven't seen since coming back. I didn't even have to get to the bar to find them- they found me when they boarded the same subway car I was on! Reunited with Nadia from Australia. Roadside signs advertised new girls and beer-and-sex deals. Another strange sight were the roadside stands owned by ...
