Christian will be joining me on the road, in our 29? RV, for the next week. He and I have enjoyed some amazing trips together, all over the world, and I am psyched that he wanted to go climb and ski some of Colorado? A route up into basin below La Plata? M doing a documentary film and TV show of my? S right and found winter-like snow that allowed for big, powerful turns. Descent Route: North Side. Friday May 26, 2006. It has been more than a week since my last ski descent of a Colorado 14er, and I? Today the road up to the summit of Mt. Evans opened for the summer season. This long, winding mountain road allows tourists, climbers, cyclists, and skiers access to the upper reaches of the mountain, and provides fantastic views of the eastern plains, the Front Range peaks, and the Ten Mile/ Mosquito Range peaks. Ted Mahon and I left. M just trying to pick off a few more peak...

Descent Route: East Face. December 22, 2006. As anyone in Colorado can tell you, we just got hammered by a pretty sizeable winter storm, which left much of the state under two feet or more of snow. Yet, once again, the Sawatch range, especially the southern peaks, were left in the donut hole, and were hammered by high winds, leaving hardly a trace of deposition from this large storm. Nick DeVore, Joel Stonington, and I left Aspen Friday morning and arrived at the trailhead relatively late. I don? That th...

Descent Route: South Couloir. January 11, 2007. Well, the last of the super-scary ski descents is now history. Crestone Needle has lurked in the depths of my mind ever since I decided to attempt this project. Could I ski it? Would I ski it? The answer is obviously yes, and with great and safe conditions to boot! D probably be on peak #30 or so. The time was 2:10 pm and the weather was stable. I looked at my team and asked them,? Do you have it in you to go for it? Never expect too much, just put one foot...
