Light snowfalls on the central ranges. Sunday August 10, 2008. Discussion leading up to and after the event. Discussion during the event. The timing and pace of this system provided an opportunity to observe both the passing of the front and arrival of the deep cold air behind it in one afternoon. Accumulations in the central ranges were modest at best during the day although further falls did occur overnight. The quality of the snow was exceptional thanks to the dry, cold atmosphere.

Images from around Taralga. A little snow fell in the area in 2006. Some of it was captured by Blizz. Drought resumed its hold from autumn onwards ensuring a dry, frosty winter with almost no snow and well below average rainfall. Severe frosts continued into spring ensuring a horror season for horticulture/viticulture in many parts of SE Australia. Another ECL, more snow on the central ranges. Wednesday June 27, 2007. Discussion leading up to, during and after the event. The SSC chased en masse on Thursday and the good folk of Oberon are still recovering. Periods of snow fell during the day but never settled in the village. Around 4cm settled on the higher surrounds during the morning. Snow once again became heavier in the afternoon before further falls into the evening.
