A Journey Filled With Grace

A Journey Filled With Grace. Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Bringing up the topic of homeschooling can solicit reactions similar to the topic of breastfeeding. Strong opinions and emotions laced with defensiveness or gracelessness easily surface. I was unaware of this phenomenon until I gave birth to my first son. I felt a mixture of surprise and confusion after I answered the ever so popular question "Are you breastfeeding? I have a good life - a blessed life. But a good, blessed life doesn't untangle on...

A Journey Filled With Grace: April 2012

http://www.ajourneyfilledwithgrace.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

A Journey Filled With Grace. Friday, April 27, 2012. Tonight, my sweet Abigail is attending her first daddy/daughter dance. As you can imagine, it has been the. Topic of conversation this week. She is beyond excited. It's all she can think about and talk about. First thing this morning she asked if we could pick out her clothes, shoes and accessories. She even asked me to bathe her.bathe her? Yes, you read that correctly! Women were created in His image. His image - one that enjoys beauty, love, laug...

A Journey Filled With Grace. Sunday, May 29, 2011. Lessons From the Trail. Looks can be deceiving. Of course we all know this. Our mothers made sure we knew this truth from an early age. But apparently I needed a reminder. On more than one occasion I have enjoyed races running along side some super athletic looking guys that I assumed were marines or members of a swat team. If their t-shirts weren’t telling the truth, they sure looked convincing! I never saw him again. Stay focused on the goal. Yes, I am...

A Journey Filled With Grace: November 2011

http://www.ajourneyfilledwithgrace.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

A Journey Filled With Grace. Wednesday, November 9, 2011. The Journey of 26.2 miles begins with a single step! I wanted to name this post "I'm Baaaccckkk! Perhaps I shouldn't point out that five months have passed since my last post. But I thought that title has been a bit overused, and it might insinuate that I will actually begin blogging again regularly. Not wanting to put too much pressure on myself I tweaked another popular saying and went with it for a title. The first 10 weeks of my training went ...

Coffee...on the RUN!: Gear

http://coffeeontherun.blogspot.com/p/gear.html

Coffee.on the RUN! One of the reasons why running is so cool is because it is so inexpensive compared to other sports. Walk into a bike shop, and compare the pricing for "necessities". I'm a penny pincher, so I'm much more about budget and function over fashion. Hopefully, there will be some tips herein to help you on your way. Wait, I thought you liked inexpensive stuff, and UA is about the most expensive workout gear there is? True, but not if you shop at Ross. Love the Roctanes) every 45 minutes durin...

Coffee...on the RUN!: Quotes

http://coffeeontherun.blogspot.com/p/quotes.html

Coffee.on the RUN! These are quotes that I've collected over the years, and I will continue updating as I collect more. I try to focus on some of these and remember them during tough times or stressful training. I hope they offer some level of inspiration to you. Today I will do what others won't, so tomorrow I can accomplish what others can't.". Jerry Rice, Football Player. General George S. Patton. Pain is temporary, quitting lasts forever. Coffee...on the RUN!: 10/23/11 - 10/30/11

http://coffeeontherun.blogspot.com/2011_10_23_archive.html

Coffee.on the RUN! Saturday, October 29, 2011. To Do's For Tomorrow. 1) Go out slow. Slower than you think, Coffee. Don't even think about pace til you top the "big hill" at mile 2.5. 2) Thank every single Marine for their service and sacrifice. Every. Single. One. 3) Enjoy the day. This race is the reward. 4) Finish Strong. The only thing that matters is the final 10K. I've done all I can do. The clock will take care of itself. I can dress with what I have. The weather will take care of itself.

Coffee.on the RUN! Saturday, September 17, 2011. So I suppose I'll soon need to turn in my blogger badge and credentials for not posting this week. I know my throngs of adoring fans have probably been waiting on pins and needles just to hear how the Francis Marion Dirt Dash Trail Half Marathon. So it is Saturday morning, exactly one week after the half, and here I am.writing it (again). Avid readers of the blog and of DailyMile will remember my friends who are running their fist half marathon. Jacci.

http://coffeeontherun.blogspot.com/2012_01_15_archive.html

Coffee.on the RUN! Saturday, January 21, 2012. You know, most bloggers post things pretty quickly after they happen. Obviously I'm not like most bloggers. While in Charleston for the Francis Marion Half in September, the group of three couples decided it would be a great plan for us all to do a race at the Charleston Marathon! I was quite frustrated at signing up for Charleston, because I paid $10 in "processing fees" for our registrations. This made me ridiculously upset. I sat here and looked a...With ...

Coffee.on the RUN! Saturday, December 31, 2011. Coffee's Year in Review. Well I guess its that time of year that we bloggers do this sort of thing. I'm not one for breaking cliches so I guess I'll do it too. My goals for 2011 were simple. I wanted to 1) Run injury free, 2) PR all distances and 3) Run the Marine Corps Marathon. I could do ANYTHING. Yeah you heard me. ANYTHING. How do you think. A) Generally owned the 20 miler. B) Got through it but learned my lesson. HINT: Just like on the SAT, take C!

Coffee.on the RUN! Saturday, October 22, 2011. Number 9032 in your program.Number 1 in your hearts. Well its here. This week my wife and I leave for DC to run the Marine Corps Marathon. Its hard to believe that I signed up for this thing in February! I remember the first day I arrived, and met all the "old guys", I thought I would run their. So with most of the training in the books, and the last week of the taper ahead, I'd just like to thank all of YOU for your comments, and interest along the way....

Coffee.on the RUN! Friday, February 10, 2012. An Ounce of Prevention. Another February rolls around, and my old friend I.T. Band makes his annual visit. If you've followed my story (even before the blog started) you'll know that after starting my running journey in August of 2009, I started my first 10K race and in the early stages felt a twinge on my outer knee. I had no idea what it could be, and like many newbie runners.I simply ran through it. (No pain, no gain am I right? Or so I thought. I mentione...

Coffee...on the RUN!: Tips

http://coffeeontherun.blogspot.com/p/tips.html

Coffee.on the RUN! When you tie your shoes for a long run, double knot them, but then tuck the loops into the laces on the top of your foot. I have yet to have ever have them come out, and as a result I have never had to stop and re-tie a shoe. It may look weird, but it works. Best training rule of thumb-Add 10% of your weekly mileage to build your cumulative distance each week.and no more. Foam Roller on the cheap:. I have done this.I affectionately call my foam roller "El Diablo". Run Less Run Faster.
