Coffee...on the RUN!: Gear
http://coffeeontherun.blogspot.com/p/gear.html
Coffee.on the RUN! One of the reasons why running is so cool is because it is so inexpensive compared to other sports. Walk into a bike shop, and compare the pricing for "necessities". I'm a penny pincher, so I'm much more about budget and function over fashion. Hopefully, there will be some tips herein to help you on your way. Wait, I thought you liked inexpensive stuff, and UA is about the most expensive workout gear there is? True, but not if you shop at Ross. Love the Roctanes) every 45 minutes durin...

Coffee.on the RUN! Saturday, October 29, 2011. To Do's For Tomorrow. 1) Go out slow. Slower than you think, Coffee. Don't even think about pace til you top the "big hill" at mile 2.5. 2) Thank every single Marine for their service and sacrifice. Every. Single. One. 3) Enjoy the day. This race is the reward. 4) Finish Strong. The only thing that matters is the final 10K. I've done all I can do. The clock will take care of itself. I can dress with what I have. The weather will take care of itself.

Coffee.on the RUN! Saturday, January 21, 2012. You know, most bloggers post things pretty quickly after they happen. Obviously I'm not like most bloggers. While in Charleston for the Francis Marion Half in September, the group of three couples decided it would be a great plan for us all to do a race at the Charleston Marathon! I was quite frustrated at signing up for Charleston, because I paid $10 in "processing fees" for our registrations. This made me ridiculously upset. I sat here and looked a...With ...

Coffee.on the RUN! Saturday, December 31, 2011. Coffee's Year in Review. Well I guess its that time of year that we bloggers do this sort of thing. I'm not one for breaking cliches so I guess I'll do it too. My goals for 2011 were simple. I wanted to 1) Run injury free, 2) PR all distances and 3) Run the Marine Corps Marathon. I could do ANYTHING. Yeah you heard me. ANYTHING. How do you think. A) Generally owned the 20 miler. B) Got through it but learned my lesson. HINT: Just like on the SAT, take C!

Coffee.on the RUN! Friday, February 10, 2012. An Ounce of Prevention. Another February rolls around, and my old friend I.T. Band makes his annual visit. If you've followed my story (even before the blog started) you'll know that after starting my running journey in August of 2009, I started my first 10K race and in the early stages felt a twinge on my outer knee. I had no idea what it could be, and like many newbie runners.I simply ran through it. (No pain, no gain am I right? Or so I thought. I mentione...

Coffee...on the RUN!: Tips

Coffee.on the RUN! When you tie your shoes for a long run, double knot them, but then tuck the loops into the laces on the top of your foot. I have yet to have ever have them come out, and as a result I have never had to stop and re-tie a shoe. It may look weird, but it works. Best training rule of thumb-Add 10% of your weekly mileage to build your cumulative distance each week.and no more. Foam Roller on the cheap:. I have done this.I affectionately call my foam roller "El Diablo". Run Less Run Faster.
