A large, solid head cabbage used primarily in coleslaw production. John Saul Ltd has grown this crop for many years, were instrumental in its development and was the first farm in the UK to build a Controlled Atmosphere store to prolong availability. At John Saul Ltd we grow over 600 acres of broccoli, a crop that suits our quality soils very well. Our greatest advantage of farming next to the sea, (The Wash), is that it provides for cooler air and sea mists, (frets), enabling this temperature and humidity sensitive crop to continue to grow even in the hottest of summers. Using little broccoli florets is a good way to encourage your kids to enjoy this nourishing vegetable as part of their five-a-day target. Broccoli and Chicken Pasta Bake. 250g Broccoli cut into little florets. 250g Penne Pasta (use wholemeal to make it super healthy). 2 Leeks, thinly sliced. 350g Cooked Chicken, (use your left over roast). 500ml Semi Skimmed Milk. 100g Mature Cheddar Cheese. 12 Cherry Tomatoes, halved. 1 tsp dried Oregano.
