Research & Development. Arctic Coring Expedition (ACEX). ACEX was a venture by the International Ocean Drilling Program to extract core samples from the Lomonosov Ridge. The expedition took place in 2004 at a latitude of 87 Degrees 50 Minutes North, in about 1.2 km water depth. The operation used the icebreaker Vidar Viking as a drillship, supported by icebreakers Sovetskiy Soyuz and Oden. This operation was a unique challenge due to the constant motion of the Polar Ice Pack.

Arno started AKAC Inc in 1984 after his career with Canmar.
