In 2014, thanks to the big efforts of our friends in Belgium and New Zealand, we managed to gather enough funds to build the Tamiha Orphans’ home. The house is 10m by 18 m, and has a foundation that is strong enough to build a second floor in the future, so that we can expand the amount of children taken care of. The house has 4 rooms, for 8 beds each, a sanitary block with 2 showers and 3 toilets, a kitchen, and a central living room.

If you plan to fly into Nairobi or Dar E Salaam and take a bus to Arusha we can arrange to pick you up at the Arusha bus station as well. It is very important that you communicate this information with us so that we can accommodate you accordingly. Will someone meet me at the airport? Which vaccinations should I get?

Their vision was to help TAMIHA strive towards its goal of sustainability and independence by creating a profit center. As their legal guardians we also take care of their medical needs such as tests for HIV, treatment for flu, malaria, TB etc. Since January 2015, as we moved to the new orphanage, we also wanted to further lower the operational cost of rent.
