Centennial Park Gallery | The Sanity Ship is Sinking
https://thesanityshipissinking.wordpress.com/centennial-park-gallery
The Sanity Ship is Sinking. My little bit of Grown Up Land. I love the layout of this blog style, however, it does not allow for vertical photographs to be featured on the main header. So, since some of my personal favorites will never make the main slide show, I decided to honor them here. I mean, it’s not their fault they are tall. Enjoy! Update: Since only recent ones scroll the slide show, I’ve added them here too. Let them have their moments in the sun, right? Centennial Park Old Knotty Tree. I'm a ...

A Sense Of The Season | The Sanity Ship is Sinking
https://thesanityshipissinking.wordpress.com/2011/11/23/a-sense-of-the-season
The Sanity Ship is Sinking. My little bit of Grown Up Land. A Sense Of The Season. After promoting a local newspaper writing contest to the kids I work with at school, I began to think of my own version of the contest entry. The Senses of the Season. This morning inspired me some as my mind drifted to visions of a steaming cup of Williams-Sonoma Peppermint Hot Chocolate. Love that stuff. Notice a few things missing? Calling All Teachers! | The Sanity Ship is Sinking
https://thesanityshipissinking.wordpress.com/2011/06/01/calling-all-teachers
The Sanity Ship is Sinking. My little bit of Grown Up Land. Summer is here. Kindergarten is around the corner. What does that mean? It means I have a Sensory Seeker about to descend upon some teachers who are only vaguely prepared for what is looming on their educational horizon. So, here’s the all-call: what do I do to get my little one as ready as she can be in the short summer months? What are those ideas you’ve always wanted to try? What has worked for you? My Happy Place | The Sanity Ship is Sinking
https://thesanityshipissinking.wordpress.com/my-happy-place
The Sanity Ship is Sinking. My little bit of Grown Up Land. Because posts get buried as time goes on, I felt I needed to keep this one handy. Everyone has a Happy Place. That one place in their minds that is their Utopia. Here is my vision of peace and quiet. They say money can’t buy happiness, but I bet if I had enough, I could come pretty darn close. Through The Generosity Of Others | The Sanity Ship is Sinking
https://thesanityshipissinking.wordpress.com/2011/03/24/through-the-generosity-of-others
The Sanity Ship is Sinking. My little bit of Grown Up Land. Through The Generosity Of Others. Most people are surprised by the generosity of others. I am often part of that group. I do tend to believe that people are inherently good, rather than bad. However, it is also human nature to be egocentric. This past week has shown me the side of humanity that I am ever hopeful for. We struggle constantly with my son’s hockey fees and expenses. Why do we torture ourselves with it? Why not find a cheaper sport?

Mindboggling | The Sanity Ship is Sinking
https://thesanityshipissinking.wordpress.com/2011/08/08/mindboggling
The Sanity Ship is Sinking. My little bit of Grown Up Land. I think we can safely say that I have lost my mind. Somehow I have it in my head that I am going to be able to do all of the things I have put on my plate. Let’s just think about this for a minute. So, my summer off is coming to an end in one day. Did I finish my book and get it to the agents and publishers? Close but not quite. Add that to the list. I also have two older kids in school. Fourth grade and eighth grade. Add lots of stuff s...So, w...

The Sanity Ship is Sinking. My little bit of Grown Up Land. Again, these photos will never make it to the main slide show on the home page because of their angle, so here they have their moment in the sun. These are from the winter walk I took with my daughter following one of the biggest snowfalls Nashville has seen. January 2010 saw roughly 16 inches fall on Franklin, TN. The top few inches were ice, perfect for little feet to walk on! Touching Snowflakes Winter Walk Franklin, TN. I'm a blogger. Si...

Conversations With a 3rd Grader | The World According to Max
https://theworldaccordingtomax.wordpress.com/2015/02/25/conversations-with-a-3rd-grader
The World According to Max. A light-hearted look at the hilarity of toddler-hood. Conversations With a 3rd Grader. February 25, 2015. One of the many reasons I keep this blog is to remember things Max has said and I have been sadly remiss in that endeavor. She has been on a roll tonight. I don’t usually write in script form, but for today, it serves the purpose. Me: I got some of your Teddy Roosevelt costume today. Max: Nothin’ is better than that! Me: You’re an odd little bird sometimes. For some wit, s...
