WEIRDER: The pirates were defeated as the cruise ship was equipped with a sonic weapon, developed by the US military, that fired a beam of sound at the potential attackers. QUESTIONS: Did the passengers know their ship had cutting-edge defence technology as part of its standard equipment? Were the passengers aware they were under attack? Links to this post.
