Strewth's Training Blog: February Fun
http://baussmann2.blogspot.com/2015/02/february-fun_25.html
Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Considerable time has passed and a lot of kilometres have been run since I last posted at the start of February! Ewen was the official photographer and he did a great job! Name for the spring on Hirta, Childa in Scotland). Sunday was the Vets Handicap but as I was on roster I only ran a short 6km run with Ewen before the event so as not to miss out entirely and to keep my legs moving. Pity it was so short lived. This is my easy week in theory and today's run was only 13km...

Strewth's Training Blog: May 2013
http://baussmann2.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Loot from the barrel draw plus medal and lucky run number. With Margaret just before the start. Photo by Ewen. It was so cold early in the morning of the Canberra Running Club's Half Marathon on Sunday. In fact it was minus 4 degrees when I was eating breakfast and wondering how many layers to wear! I selected a singlet and shorts with a long sleeved top and gloves to be removed at the 4km mark. How lucky am I! Distance: 21.1km (plus 1km warm up). Average pace per km: 5:56. I had s...

Strewth's Training Blog: June 2013
http://baussmann2.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 14, 2013. On Thursday all sportsgrounds were closed due to the recent steady rain. I worked until 2pm when I met Ewen for a coffee catch up before driving home to take Teddy out with me for my run. I was lucky in my timing as we avoided the rain. It was a good run and we both enjoyed it. Tomorrow the plan is to run a longer run incorporating the Parkrun. Fingers crossed the weather isn't too unkind. Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Teddy ready for his run. I made it to Speedygeese at Dickson Oval by ...

RunDave's Blog: Great half, at a cost
http://rundave.blogspot.com/2007/05/great-half-at-cost.html
Monday, May 28, 2007. Great half, at a cost. So I've been gone for a while, sorry about that. Even more amazing is the time that Carly got. Last year she ran a half in 2:23. Yesterday she ran it in 1:51, a 32 minute improvement! She has really worked hard on her running and weight this year, and it has certainly paid off. Good to see you are still with us :-). Well done on the half, that's a pretty zippy time. And congrats to Carly too. Wow, that is amazing - over 1 minute per km faster! Supple - part 2.

RunDave's Blog: Trailblazer 2008 race report
http://rundave.blogspot.com/2008/10/trailblazer-2008-race-report.html
Monday, October 20, 2008. Trailblazer 2008 race report. Trailblazer report copied from Coolrunning post. The race started, and after a mad rush by a few teams, who by the look of their attire weren't going to be running for long, we settled into 5 min/km pace which we basically banged out consistently all the way to checkpoint 1, getting there in 1:35. I changed my shoes from road runners to trail runners there, then we set off up Amber's Gully. I only ended up having one recovery drink (read beer) strai...

RunDave's Blog: Longest run out of the way
http://rundave.blogspot.com/2007/06/longest-run-out-of-way.html
Monday, June 11, 2007. Longest run out of the way. Wow, I didn't realise you were doing Pichi Richi. Its the same day as the GC isn't it? Its one I've always wanted to do just so I could say Pichi Richi - it sounds so cool :-). Have a crack at the sub-3 Dave. Never know, you could 'do an Eagle'. I suppose you won't be pacing me in Adelaide this year then. Just think, if you do a sub-3, you'll be having your coffee by the time I finish! My bloglines must have missed your comeback dave! Word to be confirmed.

Tuggeranong Runner: Motivation - a love story Part 2
http://tuggrunner.blogspot.com/2007/07/motivation-love-story-part-2.html
Friday, July 20, 2007. Motivation - a love story Part 2. Oh, damn", I thought, suddenly amazed at my ability to speak in tongues. My high school English teacher would be proud. The love of my life, Motivation, had disappeared in the trance of time. Some might say she wasn't mine alone. I know men are from Mars and women are from god-knows-where but THIS was ridiculous! Where had she gone? It is a bit like that for runners, too, missing their motivation. So often in running and in life all the world's...

Tuggeranong Runner: March 2007
http://tuggrunner.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 28, 2007. I am just back from my latest work trip, this time to South Korea. No more work trips planned for some weeks, which is a real relief. Next stop: Boston - Monday 16 April! I leave for Boston in two weeks on 12 April, flying Qantas to LA and then American Airlines to Boston. Accommodation in Boston is heavily booked and I could only get some place out in the boondocks. But to be there - yo baby! Thursday, March 15, 2007. There's a logic (which is one way of putting it! I first vi...

RunDave's Blog: Quagmire
http://rundave.blogspot.com/2007/05/quagmire.html
Monday, May 28, 2007. Quagmire KWAG-myr; KWOG- , noun:. 1 Soft, wet, miry land that shakes or yields under the feet. 2 A difficult or precarious position or situation; a predicament. Quagmire is from quag, a dialectical variant of quake (from Old English cwacian) mire, from Old Norse myrr, "a swamp.". It's a bit of an ugly word really. I don't like "kw" sounding words. Last Sunday I went for a short dark run on quagmire terrain! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Great half, at a cost. Supple - part 2.

RunDave's Blog: Trying to get this thing going again
http://rundave.blogspot.com/2010/03/trying-to-get-this-thing-going-again.html
Sunday, March 28, 2010. Trying to get this thing going again. Had a huge run last Sunday. Meant to go out for 1:30 and ended up out there for 2:30 and stumbling home in the darkness. Didn't get out for the rest of the week due to a) soreness from the long run, b) looking after chicken pox boy and c) soreness from stacking it on skateboard. Eventually got out today for a sharp run from the city to Flagstaff Hill after walking through the Earth ride today. A note on the earth ride. Word to be confirmed.
