Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Office 365 Not Ready for Prime Time. But Outlook is the best part of this offering. Outlook Web Access (WOA) has evolved to become a reasonable option for those of us who need to connect with an Exchange Server along with our real life, and maybe a small business life on the side. Office 365 maintains and extends that strength. But my real complaint about this offering is similar to my reasons for cancelling the similar Google offering last year. It's just not all there. random: Having gone home, I’m now going home

http://alanboner.blogspot.com/2008/04/having-gone-home-im-now-going-home.html

Tuesday, April 01, 2008. Having gone home, I’m now going home. Now I’m waiting in the Indianapolis airport for the flight (through Denver) for Seattle. I guess this is really going home. I’ve lived in the Northwest for more than half of my life. So here’s a brief account of the memorial trip:. At the graveside ceremony today, Mother was remembered as “quite a Lady.”. I appreciated talking with our neighbor who is energetically planning her 100th birthday party July 5th. Following the family time, we drov...

random: Quietly in her sleep

http://alanboner.blogspot.com/2008/03/quietly-in-her-sleep.html

Sunday, March 23, 2008. Quietly in her sleep. There was no recovery. Mother was moved to a nursing home this past week where she apparently gained some sense of awareness and was even fed some applesauce. Last night her breathing became slowly quieter till it was no more. I'm writing her obituary today. Maybe I'll post it. Thanks Alex. This Tango world is so much about living. And by encompassing the fullness of life it also engages death. I look forward to meeting some day. Michael, Susan and Malcolm.

random: Shrimps on the Barbie

http://alanboner.blogspot.com/2007/12/shrimps-on-barbie.html

Tuesday, December 11, 2007. Shrimps on the Barbie. It was wild at our house this weekend. Well, by comparison to our usually quiet domicile. Tango music is different from kids running around yelling. We really needed that infusion of kid energy. It was good to see everyone. Michael posted his photos on Flicker. I posted photos and a video on my site. Here's one, clipped from a video. Or what milongas look like in Buenos Aires this year. Or a glimpse at one trip. Posted matters more than the megapixels.

random: Continuing the vigil

http://alanboner.blogspot.com/2008/03/continuing-vigil.html

Sunday, March 02, 2008. The most challenging thing is not knowing how the recovery will go. At what point do we need to see progress to know the brain is re-connecting itself? Yesterday it was as though she woke up for a few minutes, looked at me with uncertainty for awhile, then went back to sleep to work on assembling the puzzle in private. She always liked puzzles. It’s time to do my laundry. I'm thankful that i landed here tonight. i'm sending hugs and will keep your family in my thoughts.

I did three things with the peaches:. 1) Ate them, I have had a few today, and I have put the ones that are not too ripe in the fridge for eating and making Peach Kuchen. 2) I cut them up in to small pieces and froze them on a cookie sheet until solid then placed them in freezer ziplocks for future oatmeal (musli really). December 01, 2008. Ah I love Portland and Powell’s Books. Powell’s is great.  I’m ashamed to say I’d never actually been in their ‘flagship store’ before this time, although I’ve bought books from them online.  This time, we found some great used. Books for Malcolm, copies of. Both for us and my brother Dave and his girlfriend Marti (appropriate as we watched Apocalypto. The night before) and a cheap used paperback copy of. Alan's Mind

The ins, outs, and what-have-yous of Alan. Wednesday, August 29, 2007. The Great DeKalb Flood of 2007. At least that is what some people are calling it. Thursday, August 23rd, DeKalb got socked with a squall line and thunderstorms that dropped 4.85 inches of rain from 7am Thursday to 7am Friday. The Kishwaukee River, normally a glorified stream, was already high and quickly flooded. From Gilbert, NIU staff meteorologist:. The Kish eventually crested at 15.27 feet, the second highest crest ever. Here, the...
