Rio De Janeiro and Iguazu Falls. Mr and Mrs Mason. View my complete profile. Friday, 13 March 2009. Rio De Janeiro and Iguazu Falls. We arrived in Rio on a mission to make the most of our 4 day stay in this massive city. The first day we decided to go up to the statue of Christ on the cog train as it was a lovely clear sky. Annoyingly after an hour and a half wait for the train the clouds had rolled in so by the time we got to the top the view was a little patchy! 160;neighbourhoods. We then walked d...

South American Adventure: 11/08/08

Mr and Mrs Mason. View my complete profile. Saturday, 8 November 2008. Sadly I have to report that the big beard I´d been cultivating has had to be removed. Jo was getting irritated by my new found fondness of playing with my moustache (which was handily long enough to go in my mouth). On the plus side I got to go a Bolivian barbers for a haircut which was excellent, although my limited language skills made things tricky. Mr and Mrs Mason. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

We were too concerned that we may accidentally get left in there, although it doesn't sound all that bad! After a couple of days walking the city, we left early one morning to go on 'the worlds most dangerous road' mountain bike tour (thankyou Emily and Dave! Needless to say Jo overtook Al at this point. ...

Boca Juniors 1 - Independiente 1. Mr and Mrs Mason. View my complete profile. Monday, 15 September 2008. Boca Juniors 1 - Independiente 1. Yesterday we went to see Boca Juniors vs Independiente, the second biggest BA local derby after Boca vs River Plate. Totally amazing! We thought we´d got ourselves into the seated area but arrived at the stadium with our fixer, Paula along with a group of other nervous tourists from all over the world to realise we were standing on the terraces with the Boca fans!

Mr and Mrs Mason. View my complete profile. Friday, 10 October 2008. We arrived in Pucon on 7/10/08 after crossing the Chilean border (again! The passports are filling up nicely! We approached the town in the evening and the dramatic backdrop of the active, smoking Volcano Villarica was amazing (and somewhat daunting given that one of our wedding gift list presents was to climb to the top! Jo didn´t tell me I looked like this.). Not quite as cool as the some of the locals who make the climb with skis or ...

The Last Hill Before Home. Monday, September 28, 2009. My great buddy Michael Ward and I at our fundraiser for the Last Hill Before Home at Le Scorpion in Los Angeles. MikeThank you so much for the poem and having the courage to stand up in front of a room full of strangers to deliever it. It was an amazing thing to do. Much love. Born as a simple thought in my mind. A fantasy to leave the daily grind. I poured my energy into this thought. Becoming detached from things I’d bought. It became very clear.

The Last Hill Before Home. Saturday, January 31, 2009. A Poem from Mike Ward. With all of your wonders. As I ride with my brother. With the sound of the wind pushing through the trees. And those created by rustling leaves. Inspire me PanamaWith your singing birds and long stretched beaches. With your rolling hills and the lesson each teaches. With the sunrise as it lights each cloud. With the work each day that makes a man proud. Use your lush green forests and sugar cane farms. With all of your treasures.

Al & Joe's • Home of the Submarine

March 16, 2010. Al and Joe's Deli began it's history in 1960. Aldo Conforti and my father, Joseph Gapastione, two boyhood friends, from the old Italian neighborhood of Halsted and Kedzie in Chicago, decided to take a chance and opened a small grocery store. Al, an Elevator Operator (he called himself a Vertical Engineer) and my father Joe, a Bricklayer both kept working their daytime jobs until they could get their small grocery store and deli up and running well enough to support two families full time.

Two Little Ladies

Friday, September 2, 2011. During tax season, my mom and I had discussed taking a trip to Tucson to visit my sister. We began making plans and suddenly the plan was for me to take both the girls and fly with my mom and dad the first weekend in April! Katrina had no idea that Taylor, Cassidy and I were along for the ride. We were so afraid of letting the secret slip that we actually forgot to tell many people that I was going to visit too! It was pretty comical. Cassie (just barely), me, Taylor, Bumpa and...
