Which is more than 300 thousand years old, is one of several that make up the Pribilof Islands, so named by the Russian navigator, Gavriel Pribylov, in 1787. The over 40 square mile island in the middle of the Bering Sea lies 750 miles west of Anchorage. The New King Eider Hotel, now located near the Airport, offers European-style accommodations with a friendly Alaskan atmosphere. Rooms are offered with twin beds and double beds. All rooms are located on the 1st floor with bathing and other facilities down the hall. The old King Eider Hotel was closed in 2006 so that we could provide our guests with better accommodations at our new facility conveniently located at the Airport. Beer and wine are available on the island, but not at the restaurant.

Wildflowers on St. Paul. During summer the low tundra of St. Paul Island blooms with an amazing diversity of colorful wildflowers. Pictured below are some of the most common - lupine and whorled lousewort. Lupine can be found all over the Island in various shades of Pink and Purple.
