Where the Wilde Things Are: to the Island!
http://rachels-roost.blogspot.com/2015/07/to-island.html
Friday, July 3, 2015. The morning we left for San Juan Island, it was Ethan's birthday. So, we had a little celebration for heading out. Here is he is opening Heidi's offering, her duck puppet. She was so sweet choosing it and wrapping it up. And Ethan is always a good sport. He gave it lots of love. The ferry ride lasted about an hour and was good fun. The kids were tired but had a good time standing in the wind, doing puzzles, taking in the scenery, and eating popcorn. LA in a day.

Where the Wilde Things Are: February 2015
http://rachels-roost.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 27, 2015. I am SO excited about the completion of this project! Here is a before shot: The plan is to remove the doors, cut the frame open up to the ceiling, and build lockers and cabinets that better suit our needs. We also cut about 16 inches into the wall on the right side, where the closet extended back. We spent a day or two together getting the nitty gritty design down, and then he took away the plan and started returning with boxes:. Next was the first phase of install,. And here ...

Where the Wilde Things Are: Swimming Lessons
http://rachels-roost.blogspot.com/2015/06/swimming-lessons.html
Thursday, June 25, 2015. It's that time of year! When we pay teenagers to "teach" our kids to swim. Honestly I struggle to see improvements with the young ones, but I am hopeful that it's working! What we really need is a week in grams pool for Emilee, and Chandler is pretty good now. He's doing strokes and lap swimming which is great. Now if I could convince Heidi's teacher to make her put her head under water, we'd be in pretty good shape! View my complete profile. Where the Wilde Readers Are.

Friday, March 27, 2015. The Best Snow on Earth. We had so much fun skiing at Brighton during our Utah Spring break! We made it up to Brighton three days, and it was so fun to ski the whole mountian with the boys. Gordon even took Ethan over to Great Western lift and they had a great day shredding it up. By the end of day two Emilee was ready to go and graduated from Ski School, and skiied with us up on Snake Creek. And look at this! Heidi didn't want to be left behind! Sunday, March 22, 2015. Mama and Papa Wilde: April 2012
http://alanandann.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Mama and Papa Wilde. Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Some of us can hardly wait to bike again! Last Friday evening the sun was shining and the temperature may have been getting close to 50 degrees. The bike rack went on the back of the car and we loaded it up. Off we went to Elderberry Park to get on the Coastal Trail. Was the snow gone so soon? Yes, snow was on the trail. Without mountain tires or studded tires we were hitting the trail! We had a fun evening! Monday, April 16, 2012. Sunday, April 8, 2012.

Where the Wilde Things Are: August 2014
http://rachels-roost.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 30, 2014. I know I already posted the surf camp slideshow, and you should definitely watch that if you want to check out what surf camp is like, but I just wanted to put in a little entry too. This year was particularly memorable because all the kids tried surfing! And all three boys are catching waves like crazy! He still had to work during the day but joined us every evening for surfing, dinner, and sleep. It was great! We ate like kings, played like kids, and had a wonderful time!

Where the Wilde Things Are: October 2014
http://rachels-roost.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 28, 2014. First, I want to say that I record this here with full permission of Ethan. He has read this entry before I pushed publish, and is comfortable with what I am sharing. I want to record this here because this blog really has become the journal of my motherhood. A record of our family. He loves our blog and the books that come from it. And, at this point, only family and very close friends read it anyway! I don't blame him. And he is happy! My happy boy is back. And those spindals...

Mama and Papa Wilde: Spring bicycling in Alaska
http://alanandann.blogspot.com/2014/04/spring-bicycling-in-alaska.html
Mama and Papa Wilde. Sunday, April 6, 2014. Spring bicycling in Alaska. At the Hiland Road trail access. Ready to head out. We could still smile at the end of the ride. We enjoyed the sunny afternoon and a welcome opportunity to spend time outdoors again! Maybe we'll even have an opportunity to ride more of the trail when it's in better condition. Mama and Papa Wilde: An Edible Car!
http://alanandann.blogspot.com/2013/03/an-edible-car.html
Mama and Papa Wilde. Friday, March 29, 2013. Finally, a fun car to race! After years of watching sons and grandsons make cars and race them in the Pinewood Derby, I actually made a car. Hours and hours of planning, changing ideas, and debating changes consumed all available time. Well, at least the past three nights. (I may have burned up my mixer motor last night trying to whip up that royal icing! Tonight was the big race! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. LA in a day.
