Alaska with Greg and Phyllis. Saturday, May 9, 2015. Birthday Trip to Seward. Drove down to Seward yesterday for my birthday. It rained from the time we left Anchorage until we arrived at our hotel. You learn not to let the weather deter any plans if you live in Alaska! We had a wonderful dinner last night. Yummy king crab dip and then fish and chips. Delightful. Alaska with Greg and Phyllis. Sunday, March 29, 2015. Saturday my friend, Genevieve, and I got out and walked almost four miles on the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail and Chester Creek Trail. It was a beautiful afternoon with highs in the mid 40s. Many people were out walking, jogging, and riding those fat tire bikes along the route. We stopped for a minute to enjoy the beauty of Westchester Lagoon. There were no ice hockey players out on the ice today as it has gotten too thin. Phyllis and Greg Yarbro. Crazy...

Alaska with Greg and Phyllis. Sunday, August 24, 2014. McNeil River Day 1. After getting settled in, a few of them accompanied Manager Tom on a trip to get fresh water. This was from a stream about a quarter of a mile away from camp. They had to use 2 wheelbarrows to help carry the water back to camp. It was a bit much to take in and he didn't get much sleep that night. They walked very close to Greg and the six other viewers! Phyllis and Greg Yarbro. Sunday, August 17, 2014. Alaska with Greg and Phyllis. Monday, April 20, 2015. Yesterday was a cool and windy day here in Anchorage. My friend, Doris, and I got out to do a little shopping. The flag near Dimond Center was flying in the breeze and looked so pretty with those mountains as a backdrop. Today, however, it was cold and snowy. It snowed pretty much on and off all day. At times, huge fluffy snowflakes just floated down hitting the ground with a splat. Other times, small icy flakes rained down with a vengeance.

Alaska with Greg and Phyllis. Sunday, January 25, 2015. Finally, some fresh snow! After several weeks, we finally saw snow again this Thursday and Friday. We probably got about 4 inches downtown by the time the little burst of snow was over. This is not even close to their forecast of up to 13 inches! Still, this was enough to make the landscape light and brighten things up a bit. We are now back to over 7 hours of daylight a day and adding around 5 minutes of light each day to that. That is so temporary.

Friday, July 29, 2011. I bought the book Water for Elephants at a yard sale for a dollar. I would have to say I got more than a dollar's worth of reading entertainment. It's not a book I would normally read but, I kind of wanted to see the movie because of the actors but now I really want to see the movie because of the story. The main character, Jacob, narrates his experiences as a young man who joins a traveling circus at an emotional time in his life. I would recommend this book! I love you baby girl!
