Alastair Gregg's Blog

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Yesterday I was being driven along a road, out past Gloucester Business Park. A TV crew were filming another ambulance, assumedly in preparation to report on immanent serious injuries. But this was 10:30 an hour and a half before the races started. We walked across the bottom of the hi...

Alastair Gregg's Blog: Dr Who Went to Gloucester

http://alastairgregg.blogspot.com/2008/04/dr-who-went-to-gloucester.html

On Our Way into town, we heard rifles firing, which isn't a regular occurrence in Gloucester (in contrast to when i used to live in selly oak). We soon realised it was the Gloucester Through the ages. The Whole square out the back looked very Victorian, and had been c...

Alastair Gregg's Blog: High Voltage trip to Birmingham

http://alastairgregg.blogspot.com/2007/10/high-voltage-trip-to-birmingham.html

Saturday, October 27, 2007. High Voltage trip to Birmingham. I spent last night visiting my brother in Birmingham. This was a last minute arrangement, which was decided yesterday afternoon after talking to him on the phone. In the evening we visited several good pubs, most notably ' The Wellington. An outstanding real ale pub in Birmingham city centre, which is well worth a visit, if you are ever in Birmingham. This was apparently not the first time, and the land lord had 'sorted it out' last time, by re...

Monday, June 8, 2015. Gadding around the Galapagos. Active Galapagos tour [from http:/ www.intrepidtravel.com/]. At San Cristobal airport, the official snapped his blue latex gloves and beckoned us out of the immigration queue. For a moment I had nervous thoughts about body cavities and Galapagos biohazard restrictions. But then he motioned us to the head of the queue, indicating that my walking stick and obvious decrepitude gave us priority. Intrepid descent of the Quito Basilica spire. Sea lions were u...
