Support our Family Living in Austria. Tuesday, June 11, 2013. The End of Another Year in Austria! Well, we have survived another year! I am now writing from North Carolina, where we have (rather stealthily) flown in to surprise my youngest brother for his high school graduation! Year two was better than year one- and so I wanted to briefly update you on some things that were particularly good about the year. First, the addition of our youngest son at the beginning of the year has been such a blessing!

Support our Family Living in Austria. Tuesday, February 11, 2014. New Semester, New Year. It has been a while since I have posted about life at the ITI. A new semester has begun, and I am now in the meat of the program. However, before the term began, we bottled a batch of "Dumb Ox Stout" that I brewed back before Christmas. Weighing in at 6%, it is quite tasty! The courses that I am taking this semester:. One God II: Creator and Creation. Sacramental Theology II: Priesthood, Marriage, and Virginity.

Support our Family Living in Austria. Monday, October 17, 2011. On the Goodness and Necessity of Latin in Religious Education, Part 1. It would seem that Latin as a part of a comprehensive Catholic religious education program is no longer necessary; indeed, perhaps it never was, except only to fulfill a function of utility. This is evidenced by the fact that the Mass is no longer in Latin, and is now freely available to all in their own language. Latin is not only a good for the Person, but a necessary p...

Support our Family Living in Austria. Tuesday, November 29, 2011. A Homemade Advent, Part 1. Advent seems to have come upon us quite quickly this year (as evidenced by the dearth of posts, we've found ourselves fairly preoccupied with the business of life this month), and it took the arrival of the first Sunday of Advent to spur me to some Advent planning for our little family. Part One: In Which The Advent Wreath Is Procured. Plastic schnapps glasses, obviously. Below is the final result, finished with ...

Support our Family Living in Austria. Sunday, January 15, 2012. Need to Learn Ecclesiastical Languages? There's an App for that. A good student of theology knows the sacred languages! By this standard, I am far from a "good" student, but I am trying to work hard at it, because I think it's important. To that end, I have found an ingenious app (FREE! For training on basic ecclesiastical vocab in Greek, Hebrew, and Latin! Even better, the app is optimized for the iPad, which I like very much. It should be ...

Catholic Sacristan: Evangelization, Life, Science and Justice
http://catholicsacristan.blogspot.com/p/ccc905-lay-people-also-fulfill-their.html
We are not just material beings, but spiritual persons with a need for meaning, purpose, and fulfillment that transcends the visible confines of this world. This longing for transcendence is a longing for truth, goodness, and beauty. Truth, goodness, and beauty are called the transcendentals of being. Evangelization, Life, Science and Justice. The central word of Christ's mission is not "welcome" but "repentance.". 8212;a comment by T.T. from the combox at LifeSiteNews. 8212;Archbishop Fulton Sheen.
