Receiving a Reiki Treatment. Prior to the treatment, the practitioner will scan the client's body by placing his/her hands a few inches above the recipient's body and scanning the whole area, from the feet up to the top of the head. This enables the practitioner to receive information about what is going on in the energy field of their client. It also prepares the receiver by inducing relaxation before the treatment begins. Consultation and treatment time can last from one to one and a half hours.
