Boak and Bailey's Beer Blog. Beer blogging since 2007, covering real ale, craft beer, pubs and British beer history. Almost every film set in Britain features a pub at some point. This is an attempt to catalogue some of the more interesting examples we’ve come across. We’ll update this page as we find new examples and will add screenshots or clips when we can. An American Werewolf in London (dir. John Landis, 1981). The Slaughtered Lamb, Yorkshire. The Battle of Britain (dir. Guy Hamilton, 1969). Carry o...

It Happened | andrew drinks.
http://andrewdrinks.blogspot.com/2014/11/it-happened.html
A blog about beer, brewing and drinking. Wednesday, 19 November 2014. It happened. It might not have occurred in exactly the way I'm about to describe, and certainly not all at the same time or in the same place, but it happened. Of that, I am positive. It happened on a weekday evening, in one of any number of pubs, but let's say it was up on White Lion Street, for the sake of argument. The pint of Jaipur or Hophead? Or the promise of the undiscovered countries in a glass? Posted by andrew drinks. I stra...

Golden Pints 2014 | andrew drinks.
http://andrewdrinks.blogspot.com/2015/01/golden-pints-2014.html
A blog about beer, brewing and drinking. Friday, 2 January 2015. Here are my Golden Pints for the year. I've dispensed with a couple of categories along the way. for example, I've barely bought a beer in a supermarket, so I'm not best placed to pick a winner. Best UK Cask Beer - Weird Beard Dark Hopfler. Best UK Keg Beer. Best UK Bottled or Canned Beer. Again, with their Beyond Modus. Honourable mention to Burning Sky's Monolith, a dark funky beer which, like Beyond Modus, was novel, complex and very tas...

A blog about beer, brewing and drinking. Tuesday, 10 April 2012. All-Grain Brew #1 – Black Rain (A Botched Breakfast Stout). In Aldershot converts coolboxes in-house, and I’m pretty happy with the job they’ve done. So, with that justification out of the way, I needed a recipe. I initially started looking for a clone of Mikkeller’s Beer Geek Breakfast. 8211; which I love – and stumbled on a recipe for Founder’s Breakfast Stout. 300g Crystal Malt (the remnants of the bag that went into the initial bill).

http://andrewdrinks.blogspot.com/2015/02/an-abstrakt-concept.html

Into their conditioning tanks, the Abstrakt range has started to look less like an arty concept and more like. just another set of big beers. In addition, up to this point almost every Abstrakt beer has encouraged the hoarder. Huge ABV monsters, released Across the UK, thousands of dusty black demi-bouteilles. In reality,...

From beer to eternity. Cambridge Beer Festival 2015. Thirsty Cambridge →. The Plough, Shepreth. July 5, 2015. Is a pub in the South Cambridgeshire village of Shepreth, less than ten miles from Cambridge. An open day was held at the end of January 2014 to give locals the opportunity to have a look at the plans and see for themselves the size of the job ahead. The pub had been stripped almost bare by previous owners, and it looked like it would take a lot of work to get it up and running again. The Plough ...
