William McBratney began the funeral home in a store-front location on Idaho Street near Seventh. In 1929, he moved into a building at Ninth and State Streets. It was the first building in Idaho built specifically as a funeral chapel. Earl Alden purchased the funeral home in 1949, and was later joined by Earl Waggoner and Tim Alden. In 1973, Alden-Waggoner relocated to its larger, modern facility at 5400 Fairview Avenue. Steve and Myrna Gordon joined the firm in 1982. Steven L. Gordon. Myrna J. Gordon.
