My Heart is in Helsinki: Notes from barista coach (even though i've said i don't like the word coach)
http://myheartisinhelsinki.blogspot.com/2009/02/notes-from-barista-coach-even-though.html
My Heart is in Helsinki. Monday, February 16, 2009. Notes from barista coach (even though i've said i don't like the word coach). I know Josh, Danielle, and Crystal (and Tony, John, Diane, and most of the Octane crew who picked up some slack at the shop) have had similar experiences over the past few weeks as well. All for the love of coffee and the specialty coffee industry and a few moments of glory. Labels: Coffee: Adventures in Coffee. Coffee: Octane is kind of a big deal. View my page on.

My Heart is in Helsinki: November 2008
http://myheartisinhelsinki.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
My Heart is in Helsinki. Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Time for a change. So i don't know if it's not cool to have a background that doesn't scroll or not. I think it might be a design no-no, but i don't care. The background picture is one i took near Saila's parents house in Espoo, and it makes me feel good. I think everything is just a whole lot less ugly. Which is what i was going for. I hope it's not as painful to visit this site now. The old one was pretty brutal. Tuesday, November 11, 2008. Treating the symptoms not the disease | That other coffee blog
https://thatothercoffeeblog.wordpress.com/2009/09/24/treating-the-symptoms-not-the-disease
A coffee roasters musings. That other coffee blog. Treating the symptoms not the disease. Lately there have been an increasing focus on how the coffee is packed at origin and at the roastery. Numerous blogposts and comments on forums have glorified the advantages of new methods of packing green beans and at the same time complaining about the shortcomings of the jute bag. Which gas should be used when flushing the coffee? What kind of metal/plastic material is to be used when vac-pacing? If this is actua...

Subscribe to our feed! Saturday, November 8, 2008. The Three Rivers Film Festival opened last night and your faithful correspondent was there, at the Concept Art Gallery in Edgewood, sipping the wine, nibbling the warm artichoke heart dip and having a great time mingling with film buffs who had filed in to have a little fun before heading off to Regent Square Theatre next door to see Tamas. A documentary from another Pittsburgh native, Carl Kurlander, at the Melwood Screening Room. Twelve years ago at Pi...
