Susan Shore Studio: Martini anyone?
http://susanshorestudio.blogspot.com/2011/11/martini-anyone.html
Wednesday, November 2, 2011. This painting was done for my newly painted kitchen. I took down some old shelving which left a blank wall and a perfect reason to do this large, 30 x 40, acrylic on canvas painting. It was a lot of fun to do and took only a few hours. Some are easier than others. Back to my sculptures. Doing some smaller pieces for the January show. Still haven't finished "Dancing With The Moon". but hope to have it done by the end of this week. November 4, 2011 at 9:06 PM. But is it Art?

Susan Shore Studio: Consequences of recent non-activity
http://susanshorestudio.blogspot.com/2012/04/consequences-of-recent-non-activity.html
Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Consequences of recent non-activity. That's what I get for not keeping up with my posting. Changes have been made to blogger and now nothing looks familiar. Not sure how to create a new post and more importantly can't find the "edit" or "delete" function. Yikes! Nothing I've tried has worked. Wanted to change the layout, eliminate the old and uninteresting stuff but . Guess I'll just have to keep trying. In the meantime, here is some recent work. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Thursday, May 9, 2013. 1969 Dallas, Texas. Little sis, I can’t hold on to the thought that it’s already been a year since you left us. Your death is an abstraction that lives in the form of a furtive dove that appears only momentarily by surprise at every thought I have of you, like a magician’s revealing gesture. It’s an illusion, a blur of fluttering wings beating the air madly, escaping this mortal plane, and impossible to grab hold of. You were six months old; I was nine years into my life. I could h...

Denny Holland Studio: March 2012

Monday, March 26, 2012. Here's Emily filling a page in her sketchbook. Yeah, she's that good. Beach bum taking notes on the surrounding colors. One of my favorite ways to use a sketchbook is to draw first, add watercolor, then fill the margins with notes for future reference in the studio. Until next time- cheers! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Thursday, December 20, 2012. Here are a few more collages to add to the mix. Now it's back to painting again for the new year! The Hardy Boys Meet Death. Sunday, December 2, 2012. I'm taking a little break from painting until January so I can play around with a bit of collage work. These are all mounted on thick ply and clear-coated in epoxy for a glossy, hard surface. They are all different sizes, but are approximately in the 7" x 8" range. They are selling for $150 each. The Arrival of Progress. Simple...

Denny Holland Studio: January 2012
http://dennyhollandstudio.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 26, 2012. Well after a year of not working on this sculpture I'm back on it again and actually moving along on it fairly quickly. I've spent so much of my art-making time this past year focused on painting that this has fallen to the back burner. (Oh well, I'm not really a sculptor, so I don't feel too bad! The hull is ready to be clad. The cardboard mock-up of the skyline helps me figure out shapes and mass. The finished city will be a lot more refined, I promise! Gettin' it into gear.
