Taking a Deeper Look: February 2010
http://endurance-runner.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Taking a Deeper Look. Desiring to build up the church. Sunday, February 21, 2010. Vulnerability, Being "Truefaced", Genuine. After all, isn't it important that believers are witnesses not just of the history of God's interaction with humankind but, importantly, His interaction in our own lives? Is a witness one who declares what has been, as a historian, or is it a person who experienced something and shares/recounts that experience with others? Who am I to others? Are you willing to show that you can be...

Taking a Deeper Look: April 2011
http://endurance-runner.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Taking a Deeper Look. Desiring to build up the church. Sunday, April 17, 2011. I have quoted Hebrews 11:1 as the definition of faith, as have many others. The ESV puts it, "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." I treat it like a dictionary definition, plucking it from the page and disregarding its context. That verse alone sounds like a conviction of one's belief, does it not? Or am I living the life of a hypocrite, saying one thing and doing the opposite?

Jess on the move...: The thing you aren't supposed to say
http://jennylr.blogspot.com/2013/12/the-thing-you-arent-supposed-to-say.html
Jess on the move. Sunday, December 29, 2013. The thing you aren't supposed to say. In certain areas of my life I am thriving! In other areas - in the important areas, I have been settling. In my Christian walk, and in my love life, I have been settling. I went to Africa. I met people with varied backgrounds in the church and styles of worship. I went to loads of different churches with different people. My heart was on fire. Clean up clear out. In everything give thanks. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Jess on the move...: May 2013
http://jennylr.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Jess on the move. Saturday, May 25, 2013. Let's just say, it has been one of those weeks. Who would I be without my stuff? I am getting rid of my college textbooks, but I still have my notes. I have invested 6 years into my undergraduate education, plus 13 years for K - high school That's five years of early childhood, 19 years of schooling, and less than 3 years of life (thus far) after graduation. If I disregard my education, what is left? Clean up clear out. In everything give thanks. Subscribe to: Po...

Jess on the move...: November 2013
http://jennylr.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Jess on the move. Thursday, November 28, 2013. Did I say too much, or not enough? Are my motives understood or misinterpreted? This fire is also fueled by the work I do, under a constant spotlight of coworkers, not to mention constant critique from our customers. And I have memorized some of our medications at the corresponding cells in our robot. Proof I work too much and need to get out more. Since my last visit, I have been busy prepping my Christmas presents for them. I have wrapped most of what ...

Taking a Deeper Look: January 2012
http://endurance-runner.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Taking a Deeper Look. Desiring to build up the church. Wednesday, January 4, 2012. They do, but countries and territories are called by their names rather than being called the Orient. If I go to Europe for missionary work, I am going overseas. But do international workers or expatriates live and work internationally or overseas? Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Why do I start talking about paint after not writing for so long? As I look forward to certain changes in my own life, I can't help but wonder about my...

Taking a Deeper Look: November 2010
http://endurance-runner.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Taking a Deeper Look. Desiring to build up the church. Sunday, November 7, 2010. Caution: this post gets a bit ranty. I've heard numerous times that the ministry expectancy of a campus minister is 1 1/2 to 3 years. That sounds absurdly short to me, but I can think of several examples. I can think of a few examples that buck the trend, and I will discuss those briefly as well. When I was challenged, I grew. I started caring more about faith. I started wanting to learn more. But I digress, sort of. We can ...

Jess on the move...: People More Than Things
http://jennylr.blogspot.com/2015/01/people-more-than-things.html
Jess on the move. Friday, January 9, 2015. People More Than Things. I have a dear friend who loves to say People More Than Things. As encouragement, as a motto, as a reminder. People, and relationships, are more important than things. But tough times right now are reminding me to say God Even More Than People. But our hearts are wicked and our tongues are deceitful. I cannot discern the truth from humans. I must discern the truth from the Lord. Because He is truth. In everything give thanks.

Jess on the move. Tuesday, June 4, 2013. She can't help but love him. She drives down on Sunset. With the windows down. Just so she can let it in. She knows he's far-gone now. But there still are pieces. Pieces there still left of him. He uses love like a bullet from a gun. She's careful like a surgeon. Everywhere he goes they all know to run. But she can't help but love him. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). PA, United States. Ramblings of a Ruminating Runner. View my complete profile. Clean up clear out.

Taking a Deeper Look: March 2010
http://endurance-runner.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Taking a Deeper Look. Desiring to build up the church. Sunday, March 28, 2010. Revisiting Holy Week part 1. Here is a brief look at the events of the weekend that included Palm Sunday. May it lead us ever closer to our Savior. Likely after sunset on Friday before Passion Week, Jesus and his disciples arrived at the home of Mary, Martha and Lazarus at Bethany. This would be their home base until the following Thursday. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!
