Media Studies: January 2010

http://alevelmediastudies09-11.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 19 January 2010. In order to come up with a name for my music magazine I made a mind map with different words associated with music:-. From this I decided upon the name "LIVE wire" for my magazine and instantly had an idea for the masthead; "wire" could be written in the shape of an actual wire, with a spark of electricity dotting the "i". I also decided that my magazine will focus on live music, mainly rock/indie bands to fit in with the "LIVE wire" name. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Media Studies: November 2009

http://alevelmediastudies09-11.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html

Monday, 30 November 2009. I decided to analyse various front covers, contents pages and double page spreads, looking mainly at Kerrang! Rock Sound and NME, in order to help me plan the pages for my magazine. Click "View on Slideshare" to see the slides that "did not convert properly"). Friday, 20 November 2009. Considering that I’ve never used Adobe InDesign before and barely used Adobe Photoshop, I feel that I have done very well in creating this magazine to a good standard. However, I do need...From do...

Media Studies: 3: What Kind of Media Institution Might Distribute Your Media Product and Why?

http://alevelmediastudies09-11.blogspot.com/2010/04/3-what-kind-of-media-institution-might.html

Friday, 16 April 2010. 3: What Kind of Media Institution Might Distribute Your Media Product and Why? I did initially consider Bauer Media to distribute my magazine because it has over 80 influential media brands and reaches over 19 million people. However, it already distributes music magazines with a very similar target audience and genre, for example "Kerrang! Therefore it would be unlikely to distribute a competitor to one of its existing successful magazines. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Media Studies: February 2010

http://alevelmediastudies09-11.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 24 February 2010. From creating the magazine mock up I realised that the masthead I had created wasn't as sharp and realistic as I would have liked; the red wire didn't look like it could actually be a wire. In order to overcome this, I decided to actually arrange a wire to spell out the word "wire" and take a photo:-. Monday, 8 February 2010. Rough Sketches and Trials. I then made a quick rough front cover on InDesign using photos from the internet to give me an idea of the sort of thing my m...

Just another WordPress.com site. April 28, 2011. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? I feel this shot shows clearly how the horror genre is shown. It shows the man hiding behind a wall, which instantly makes the audience tense, as they are unaware if he will be spotted. The fear built up here, makes it clear that it is going to be a horror genre. How does your media product represent particular social groups? January 7, 2011.
