about Alex Gray of Femmes Fatales
http://femmes-fatales.info/about-alex.htm
Alex Gray was briefly a folk singer as a student in Glasgow. Her first job was a visiting officer for the DSS in Govan. She then spent a decade teaching English. Family and career kept her fully occupied, but in the background lay the long held desire to be a writer. Alex's first novel, Never Somewhere Else took three years to complete and by the time it was accepted for publication by Canongate, her second novel, A Small Weeping was almost complete. This has recently been published.

Erskine Writers: Garden Party 2015
http://erskinewriters-uk.blogspot.com/2015/05/garden-party-2015.html
Sunday, 24 May 2015. On Tuesday, it was the Erskine Writers' Annual Garden Party held at Sandra's lovely home. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't quite as kind as usual and we had to make do with occasional wanders out to the garden where the bluebells were still in bloom. Of course, no type of weather could dull the enjoyment of sharing our excellent buffet lunch, with lots of chatting and the odd beverage or two. We had a good attendance as always, although we missed some of our regulars this year.

Erskine Writers: Writers’ Forum Tips
http://erskinewriters-uk.blogspot.com/2015/02/writers-forum-tips.html
Sunday, 22 February 2015. Writers’ Forum Tips. On Tuesday, 17th February, Wilma Ferguson gave us a wide-reaching overview of some aspects of good writing: a good title, age-appropriate names, choice of viewpoint. Wilma also stressed the importance of a winning beginning and of the four Cs - conflict, contact, contrast and colour to give depth and interest to what we write. However, from the outset, we were not allowed to forget that this was a workshop. Labels: Writers Forum Tips. Reading and Writing Blog.

Erskine Writers: Drama Workshop
http://erskinewriters-uk.blogspot.com/2015/02/drama-workshop.html
Sunday, 1 February 2015. We had a bit of drama at the writers’ group last Tuesday. Not a physical incident, but a workshop on how we might tackle writing one. The workshop was led by one of our members, Morag Moffat, who is a regular theatre goer and has attended several drama courses. She was also last year’s winner for her sketch, ‘Dress Rehearsal’, at the Scottish Association of Writers Conference. The workshop was interactive, providing lots of chat and motivation to write a sketch. Writing Websites ...
