Reflective Practice
Wednesday, 31 July 2013. Making Day: 30th July. Great opportunity for a making day with Claire yesterday - we agreed that we should initiate more sessions like this (probably Saturdays) over the next year where anyone can drop in as the real time feedback is so valuable. We spoke for 45 mins at the start, followed by an hour between 2 and 3, and later followed by an email exchange possibly to follow up at a later date. Attention to hands - articulated cylinders, easier to work observationally. Clothing i...

Studio 7b
I'd rather be painting. Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Statement July 2013 - I have included this as I found it difficult to articulate the changes in my work and feel that it is useful to make a comparison. Statement July 2014 - first attempt. Make references that are relevent and useful for the viewer. Don't tell the viewer want to think or how to experience the work. Don't be precious about favourite phrases. Studio Practice
Sunday, 25 November 2012. Record of feedback from paired. The first paired crit came almost before we had begun our work for the Studio Practice unit. Visual Enquiry
Tuesday, 29 November 2011. Alice in Wonderland - Tate Liverpool. A couple of weekends ago I went up to Liverpool to visit the Tate's Alice in Wonderland exhibition. These are some elements which I found interesting and may have an impact on my practice. Liliana Porter's piece collage of rabbit hole ephemera indicates a jumbled and fractured story or pieces of a broken mirror. This brings a more textural element to collage and could link to image and object collections. Francesca Woodman and Duane Michels...

51 days of summer
51 days of summer. Thursday, June 16, 2011. Sunday was the last day in the ward, and it was really sad to say goodbye! I was touched by how sad the Primary kids were that we were leaving – Poppy said, “I think it’s raining because you guys are leaving us.” I love that girl! All of the kids gave us about 20 hugs, and at the end they wanted our phone numbers so they can call us if they ever come to the U.S. :) I wish I could look into the future and see where they all end up! One of the girls made a slides...

A Christian Blog for Women. Wednesday, February 19, 2014. 8220;Feelings are indicators, not dictators. They can indicate where your heart is in the moment, but that doesn't mean they have the right to dictate your behavior and boss you around. You are more than the sum total of your feelings and perfectly capable of that little gift . . . called self-control.” - Lysa TerKeurst. How many feelings do we have in a day? And how often do we let those dictate an hour, a minute, or even a second of our time?
