Julia had her first day of "all day" school moving on to 1st grade with Ms. Wood and Ms. Schnorr, and Luke had his first day of afternoon kindergarten. Last year, the kids were small enough that they would take some of my help and advice carving the pumpkins, but this year they had their own ideas and wanted to carve them on their own too, so I had to get my own so that I could still express my own creativity without telling the kids what they had to do on their pumpkins! We went to the park the other day, so she could practice without any training wheels on the grass where she wouldn't be afraid to fall. By the time we were done, she had made it to 50 to 60 feet a few times. As a present for my Grandparents 60th wedding anniversary, my Mom reserved a cabin up near Keystone, Colorado and made arrangements so that the whole family could go spend a few days up there together. Tuesday, July 26, 2011. Spence had a great birthday this year! As you can see in the pictures, we went to a Dbacks game, had a big pool party with 18 of our friends (where Spence did awesome on the grill), had some chicken pillows and rice-a-roni for Sunday dinner per his request, ate lots of leftover wedding/birthday cake, enjoyed breakfast in bed, had carne asada for lunch, and answered lots of sweet phone calls from loved ones! The last pic of the truck is just one of Spence's favorites. haha.
