Monday, July 14, 2014. Place of the Lost One. July 3-6, 2014. Jocassee Gorges was formed at the confluence of four rivers: Whitewater, Thompson, Horsepasture, and Toxaway. It was once Cherokee Land and gets it's name from an old legend of love and horror, the name Jocassee meaning place of the lost one. We paddled the canoe from the loading dock at Devil's Fork State Park in South Carolina up to the Toxaway River at Gorges State Park in North Carolina. Waterfalls were flowing and cliffs were jump-worthy.

Friday, July 19, 2013. It’s raining everyday right now. More than the typical mountain-summer-afternoon-storm usually gives. Four inches or more in places daily. Rivers sometimes too high to paddle. Roads and vehicles under water. Folks shaking their heads while gardens, hard work, and hopes are washed away. Here at Glory View we’re some of the lucky ones who aren’t in the flood plain. Our hopes for tomatoes are hanging on. Pumpkins, melons, and peppers seem to be doing just fine. Pumpkin and melon patch.

Gesehen - "Seelen" in der Sneak Preview (der schlechteste, aber somit auch lustigste Film seit langem), das Champions League Finale. Gehört - 30 Seconds to Mars. Gelesen - nichts richtiges, wegen der superstarken Kopfschmerzen. Getan - ausgeruht, gestrichen, Ton- Skulptur "gebaut". Getrunken - viel Tee und Kaffee. Gefreut - über helfende Freunde. Geärgert - darüber, dass es mir die Woche teilweise gar nicht gut ging (Übelkeit, Kopfschmerzen, Schwindel). Gewünscht - einen superlangen und tollen Urlaub.
