This cabinet was our only space for all our plates, glasses, coffee cups, china and platters for the past 3 years. The most painstaking part of the whole process was wrapping each piece carefully and arranging the boxes. What a nightmare it would be to have to replace this stuff. Meanwhile, at the new house:. Saturday, May 11. Day 14 (Wife takes the afternoon off work to play Flip This House). Sometimes remodeling a house isn't very glamorous. Sometimes you have tedious tasks that don't reward you with a beautiful, obvious result, such as puttying up holes from the original owner's 60 years of picture hanging. Here is the breakfast nook, sans. The grass/human hair wallpaper. The trim is beige and the wall is freshly sanded. Why yes, that does appear to be lead paint powdered all over my arm.

Sunday, May 12. Days 15 and 16: progress we can see. While Husband worked a 12 hour day on Saturday, I made a little field trip to the local Sherwin-Williams and picked up a bucket of their Nomadic Desert for the den. It's actually a taupe-ish gray, but looks green through my phone's camera. It was so refreshing to see something besides primer on those walls. The number one stressor for me in this whole thing hasn't been the amount of work, or the short timeline- it's been committing to paint colors!

Sunday, May 19. This is your last chance to see sea foam green on our walls! It looks blue with the green walls and blue tape, but it's actually gray. Those built-in shelves on the bottom left are now the same color as the wall. I'd considered painting then white to match the trim and fireplace, but decided against it.
