my pink sketchbook: One (bargain) Blue and White Fabric--Three Ways
http://mypinksketchbook.blogspot.com/2011/09/one-bargain-fabric-three-ways.html
Friday, September 23, 2011. One (bargain) Blue and White Fabric- Three Ways. Thought I'd share this great look-for-less find. I found this beautiful (and crazy affordable) Blue and White. It's rather "'inspired" by Quadrille's Lyford Pagoda Petite. But I have to say I like it almost as much as the original. I haven't seen it in person but I'm going to take a chance and order some samples. Not exactly a huge risk; it's $19/yard! The first is a scheme I've really been missing lately: red, white and blue.

Friday, January 3, 2014. Dining Chairs. Mixed, Not Matched. If you hire me, whether your leanings are modern or traditional, you're on board with my love of all things layered. You sign up because you like my taste and style, even if you don't yet know that means a motley mix of furniture pieces, fabrics and finishes. I won't let clients succumb to fear-based matching, even when they call it coordinating. I've said it over and over, "If you just buy what you love , no matter the style,. So onto the chair...

my pink sketchbook: Yellow, black and white...I just love it!
http://mypinksketchbook.blogspot.com/2010/03/yellow-black-and-whitei-just-love-it.html
Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Yellow, black and white.I just love it! I just read a post on my favorite blog of all time, Chinoiserie Chic. About inheriting our parents' design aesthetic. Do we or don't we? It got me thinking about the bold yet traditional approaches my mother's taken over the years, especially about one approach by which I will forever be awed and impressed: her little ode to yellow. Black and white. The year was 1972. I know, I look so young, right? I just found a woman. It's her whole blog.

my pink sketchbook: Too blue, or not too blue
http://mypinksketchbook.blogspot.com/2010/07/too-blue-or-not-too-blue.html
Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Too blue, or not too blue. Ironically, this post was going to be about my break up with blue and white. I grew up in a blue and white house, ate off Blue Willow my whole childhood, even registered for. Blue and white some 16 years ago. We've all been served such a glut of this now totally cliché classic that I even steer clients away from it, imploring them to toss in some red, orange or apple green. But. How gorgeous was this HB cover? Quick, I've been know to change my mind.

my pink sketchbook: Dreaming of a White Kitchen...
http://mypinksketchbook.blogspot.com/2012/01/dreaming-of-white-kitchen.html
Friday, January 6, 2012. Dreaming of a White Kitchen. I'm dreaming up (another) fresh, white kitchen for a client. It's not that I'm stuck in a 'white' rut. It's more that I'm always indulging my two greatest passions in kitchen design: Clean and Bright. First, the cleanliness. Not the sexiest passion, but a passion nonetheless. To me white equals clean. White towels, white sheets, white kitchens and baths. Who doesn't want their kitchen to feel spartan clean? At least between meals. This first image ins...

my pink sketchbook: Feeling Yellow
http://mypinksketchbook.blogspot.com/2013/09/feeling-yellow.html
Thursday, September 12, 2013. I can't believe the surge in popularity of Yellow this past year; in fashion, interiors and even graphic design. My personal preference is a more intense, lemon yellow over subtle buttery yellows- (remember this. Whether you "like" the color or not, you'd have to be a total curmudgeon to not feel uplifted by a yellow room . The ubiquitous combo right now is YELLOW. We are actually working on, not one, but. Yellow and grey spaces. I know you'll love it! What Im Working On.
