Sunday, May 24, 2009. This past Thursday we had a great opportunity to use an online classroom for discussion of women's health issues that can affect oral health and need to be considered in dental hygiene treatment. Topics covered included women's life cycles, HIV, body image, birth control, pregnancy, and eating disorders. One of the topics that we spent the most time discussing was eating disorders, in particular anorexia and bulimia. Gain by making themselves vomit or by using laxatives (purging).
