The Person Center (TPC) is a private non-profit organization established to provide charitable, educational, and therapeutic services to the multicultural and multi-ethnic African immigrant communities in the Washington metropolitan area. TPC helps African immigrants and refugees through the difficult acculturation and adjustment process. Provide training for community based organizations serving African immigrants.

Goals | The Person Center

Serving African immigrant survivors of violence and war trauma. Serve as educators to community organizations on the issues of domestic violence. Administer training to community organization members on domestic violence and advocacy. Provide direct education and training to the community through existing grassroots organizations. Provide therapeutic/counseling services to women and families struggling with traumatic pasts and domestic violence.

Serving African immigrant survivors of violence and war trauma. Violence and war trauma is a growing problem in the African immigrant community. Many immigrants (particularly refugees and asylum-seekers) migrate to the United States to escape violence in their countries. They have been exposed to a number of violent acts and stressors such as; murder, warfare, sexual violence, and torture.

The Person Center is organizing a health fair to be held on August 21 from1:00 pm to 3:00pm at The International Ethiopian Evangelical Church located at 7930 Eastern Ave. NW Washington, DC, 20012. We would like to invite vendors who can provide the following health screenings:. Eyes, glaucoma screening and hearing tests. Vital screening ( blood pressure, pulse, glucose, BMI , cholesterol).
