jamiepeeps: happy new year
http://jamiepeeps.blogspot.com/2013/02/happy-new-year.html
Friday, February 15, 2013. I'm very fond of the Chinese New Year. As a former resident of San Francisco, I relate to all the Asian wisdom and ritual around new beginnings. And, it's nice to have another fresh start, since the calendar new year seems to come too close behind the holidays for a truly clean slate. However, I am NOT fond of snakes. In fact, I am totally phobic! I repurposed my illustration of a snake from Nest, Nook and Cranny. On Tuesday I made a presentation at the Curtis Library. The show...

http://jamiepeeps.blogspot.com/2013/02/boston-blast-with-meca-seniors.html
Saturday, February 2, 2013. Boston blast with MECA seniors. My Maine College of Art. Senior illustration students recently blasted to Boston, with department chair Scott Nash. At the helm of our rocket ship. Our first landing was Cloud Kid. Where we received warm and furry greetings. Creative Director Dave Schlafman gave an engaging talk about their work, specific projects underway, and a tour of the lively studio. It's true, every member of his team has their head in the clouds! We loved the murals.

jamiepeeps: love letters
http://jamiepeeps.blogspot.com/2013/02/love-letters.html
Friday, February 8, 2013. Tis the season: love's gonna get me through the blizzard outside. I've got my valentine making station all ready. If the power goes out, I still have hands, glue sticks, scissors and paper. I've been thinking about the power of old fashioned love letters lately. Who still sends them? What a joyful greeting this door made when I visited my dear friend Mary Anne Lloyd. Here's a recent batch of my mail on it's way. Upcoming production of A Song at Twilight. I invited my fellow pape...

jamiepeeps: 2012-10
http://jamiepeeps.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Things are busy in my junior illustration majors studio course at Maine College of Art. Students recently completed illustrating a rituals theme, with solutions ranging from an annual naked bike ride in Philadelphia, to Burning Man, to the piece below by Kiah Gardner, which fits today's mood in a fetching way. Kiah's interest in fiber relief was renewed by a recent visit from Salley Mavor. Kiah drew some, and then started felting. Doug's father, Dick Smith. It's a terrific ch...

AND it’s on the 2013 Elementary California Collection. Cool stuff for a warmish book. I'm eager to see a new film, Chasing Ice. Even diehard skeptics of global warming are getting the picture. It's a documentary from the Extreme Ice Survey. And sure to send chills down anyone's spine. Labels: A Warmer World. Friday, November 9, 2012. The illustrations be...
