My beautiful daughter Alexandra who is now 11 years old was diagnosed on November 10, 1998 with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). It's a very rare form of Leukemia for someone her age, I believe the odds are 2 in 1 million that a 10 month old child will be diagnosed with AML. The typical AML patient is a 55 year old male, so all of us including the doctors were shocked by the diagnosis. The three of us and Andrea's parents made arrangements to spend a week on Bald Head Island off the North Carolina coast...

The pain is still incredibly intense, but instead of immobilizing our entire days, it comes and goes throughout the day - sometimes without warning. We think of Allison constantly and memories of her love and laughter help to bring smiles through our tears. Continued love and support, because of our love for one another, and because of our ever-growing faith. What do we do now? One Day At A Time.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009. After getting to spend some time at home with her toys and her pet kitty cat, Allison has returned to the hospital for round 3 of chemo. We anticipated this visit, so it did not come as a surprise when we got the call from her doctor. Which makes it slightly more difficult to find an exact match for her. Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers for our daughter. We've had a challenging few weeks, but it looks like we may be coming out of it, slowly but surely. Friday, August 28, 2009. It's been entirely too long since I've posted an update on Allison's progress. I'm working on a fun post that includes information on Allison, more pictures, and a FANTASTIC video!
